RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘CREEPING’ – WATCH
NEW EP ‘HAUNT’ IS OUT NOW – STREAM
Today, Birmingham based alternative act CREATURE release their brutal new EP, ‘HAUNT’. The final chapter in the band’s trilogy of EPs is OUT NOW. Fans can stream the album HERE. To celebrate the release, the band has released a visualiser for the track ‘Creeping’.
Speaking on ‘Creeping’, vocalist/guitarist James Thompson comments:
“Creeping depicts an existential crisis of neuroticism and anxiety. It’s so easy to fixate on things out of your control, and when these go wrong it creates a heightened sense of self-awareness, making you think there’s something wrong with you. Doubt creeps up and it can become all-consuming. The ‘Creeping’ takes this further as a metaphor for death. You can easily fixate on the delusion of death, thinking that something is killing you and the certainty of it happening.”
Teasing new material and their imminent 2000Tress festival appearance, drummer Tom Bradshaw adds:
“After two years cooped up writing and demoing for our debut album, we couldn’t be more excited to be playing 2000trees and our EP launch this summer – where we’ll be showcasing the new HAUNT material. Playing our songs live is always the most rewarding experience for us – meeting like-minded people, bands and tearing it up on stage. Make sure you get down to the CREATURE set for some carnage!”

‘HAUNT’ marks the final chapter in a trilogy of EPs. Starting with 2019’s ‘HEX’ and swiftly followed by ‘HOUND,’ the trilogy’s final instalment –and subsequent touring– was ultimately delayed due to the global crisis.
After locking themselves away, CREATURE are back with a fistful of riffs and instilled with a renewed sense of purpose. ‘HAUNT’ pulses with angular, math infused hardcore riffs and pounding drums expertly recorded by UK producer/engineer Steve Sears (Gallows, Gold Key, Rolo Tomassi). The resulting apocalyptic soundtrack scores tales of anxiety, neurosis and existentialism with a healthy dose of the macabre for good measure.
“It’s so easy to fixate on things out of your control,” Thompson remarks. “it creates a heightened sense of self-awareness, making you think there’s something wrong with you. Doubt creeps up and it can become all-consuming. You can easily fixate on the delusion of death, thinking that something is killing you and the certainty of it happening.”
The EP’s artwork was once again created by UK illustrator Luke Preece (Metallica, Ghost, Slipknot, Employed To Serve) leading us to the trilogy’s final and beautiful resting place.
Be sure to catch the band live at 2000Trees Festival 2022 and their EP launch show, with more dates to be announced.
