Today, Liverpool’s Courting release the deluxe edition of their acclaimed third album, How to Thread the Needle and Come Out the Other Side to Tell the Story, Or: ‘Lust for Life’, out now via Lower Third Recordings.
Expanding on their March LP Lust for Life, the deluxe version offers seven additional tracks that reframe and rework the original record’s ideas, a collage of demos, remixes and live recordings that highlight the band’s obsession with duality and reinvention.
Leading the release is “pause at you (Meg Ward’s Wavy Remix)”, a euphoric reimagining of one of the album’s standout moments. Released today alongside a new visualiser, the track pushes the song’s bittersweet energy into a new electronic realm, tying Courting’s sharp-edged pop sensibilities to the dancefloor.

The expanded record also features the previously released “rollback freestyle” featuring RXK Nephew, and “the twins (1969)”, each continuing to explore the playful chaos and mirrored structures that have defined Courting’s recent work. Less a collection of extras and more a reinterpretation, the deluxe captures the band’s instinct to revisit and reshape their own sound.
The release arrives as Courting prepare for their upcoming UK and EU tour, and follows the announcement that the band will support The Cribs on tour in March 2026. The connection runs deep, The Cribs’ Ryan and Gary Jarman co-produced Courting’s 2024 album New Last Name, helping the Liverpool group refine their distinctive blend of intensity, melody and experimentation.
