100%WET share their highly anticipated debut, self titled album 100%WET via Crunchy Frog Records
100%WET by Lucas Kober
Today, 100%WET finally release their self-titled debut album via Crunchy Frog Recordings – a bold, genre-smashing introduction to their self-coined sound, hypergaze.
Listen to the album in full HERE.
Following a string of singles including “Ether”, “Over Me”, and the recent “Leave It”, the record delivers on early praise from DIY, The Line of Best Fit and Electronic Sound, sharing a world where shoegaze introspection collides with rave euphoria, fractured rhythms and the hyper-referential beauty of the Internet age.
100%WET is made up of producer/guitarists Casper Munns and Jakob Birch. Formed in 2023, bonding at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen over a shared desire to merge breakbeat, acid house, and drum’n’bass with dense, guitar-driven song writing. Their debut album reflects that vision fully: maximalist, emotionally charged, and sonically restless.
100%WET moves between vulnerability and intensity, fusing ambient textures, mangled samples, shifting tempos and dreamlike hooks into a dense, immersive whole. Vocal features from a wide cast of collaborators, including Eir (Sanna Heinstedt, who also joins the band live), Polly (Amalie Hannibal Petri) and Frederik Fog Bruun of the band Miaw, adding warmth and intimacy to the duo’s wired, unpredictable sound.
On tracks like “Over Me”, glitched-out textures and breakneck d’n’b pulses give shape to heartbreak; “Leave It” dissolves into a warped, VHS-like outro, blurring memory and emotion. The opener “Lost Myself” sets the tone: hazy, hopeful, and teetering on the edge of collapse.
Outside of 100%WET, Casper Munns is known for his work in Himmelrum (Big Oil/Joyful Noise), his solo alias Drop, and the d’n’b project Splitscreen. Jakob Birch has released experimental solo work on underground label Janushoved and has been in both Lovespeed (Sony) and The Lost Weekend.
With their debut, 100%WET present a world built equally for headphones, dancefloors, and daydreams – nostalgic and futuristic, cathartic and otherworldly.
