Convulsif Announce New Album “Anatomy of Rage”

Convulsif Announce New Album “Anatomy of Rage”, Premiere Lead Single “Monitor and Limit”

Swiss experimental quartet Convulsif return with their fourth studio album, Anatomy of Rage, a visceral new work that dissects anger through a collision of dark jazz, grind, doom, drone, noise, metal, and experimental rock. The album will be released on October 1 via Deszpot RecordsAraki RecordsDay Off RecordsRamble Records, and Cheap Satanism Records.

The first glimpse into the record arrives today with “Monitor and Limit,” which premiered via New Noise MagListen to the song at this location.

“Monitor and Limit” provides the first window into that world, capturing Convulsif’s ability to move from hypnotic repetition and unsettling atmosphere to explosive, carefully controlled chaos.

Built around compositions by Christian Müller and poems by acclaimed Swiss writer Regina Dürig, Anatomy of Rage marks a significant evolution for Convulsif, introducing the human voice into the band’s music for the first time. Rather than taking a conventional lead role, the vocals become another element within the quartet’s dense sonic architecture, adding a new emotional dimension to their already singular sound.

At its core, Anatomy of Rage is an exploration of fury: how tension accumulates, how it fractures, how it erupts, and what remains in its aftermath. Slow-burning passages stretch towards breaking point before collapsing into violent bursts of sound, moving between meditative restraint and overwhelming intensity.

The band’s unconventional instrumentation remains central to their identity. Loïc Grobéty on bass and Maxime Hänsenberger on drums provide the record’s crushing rhythmic foundation, while Jamasp Jhabvala‘s amplified violin and Christian Müller‘s electronically manipulated bass clarinet occupy the space where guitars might traditionally reside.

The result is unmistakably Convulsif: music where precision collides with chaos, composition with improvisation, and restraint with eruption.

More than a collection of songs, Anatomy of Rage is an endoscopic journey through the inner workings of fury, exposing every fibre, fracture, and moment of release.
