Beneath a hulking carapace of absolute brutality the improbably jointed insectile legs of frenzied creativity thrashed in wild and wicked abandon, dragging the band’s incredible songs into unexplored territories and nightmarish mazes, confrontational sonic arenas and surprising islands of tranquillity. The band was Cerebral Hemorrhage and their one and only album was 2001s stunning Exempting Reality.
As guardians of the death metal flame, custodians of the spirit of musical brutality, Comatose Music could not allow Cerebral Hemorrhage’s masterpiece to languish in the dusty vaults of extreme music history. With new cover art and a meticulous remaster by Colin Davis (Aborted, Defeated Sanity, Origin etc), Exempting Reality has been reanimated and is ready to wreak havoc once again! Incredibly, nearly a quarter of a century after they were first drawn from the aether of dark imaginings, the songs that form Exempting Reality’s mind-warping structure have lost none of their power, ferocity and ability to astound. Beginning with the explosive onslaught of ‘Beaten And Dismembered’ this jewel of extremity proceeds to twist, turn, trick and beguile – using a breathtaking combination of sleight of hand and murderous, merciless violence. ‘Remnants Of The Final Solution’ is a towering album highlight, atmospheric and daunting in its intensity, utilising all the formidable weapons in the Cerebral Hemorrhage armoury. Every track is a consummate display of savagery and sophistication, with superb individual performances from all involved. To this day there is nothing quite like Exempting Reality in all the haunted spheres of death metal.
