As shared by the band via their social channels, Japanese quintet coldrain are set to release a new EP, OPTIMIZE, on October 24th 2025 via Century Media Records. The announcement arrives just in time for the band’s ONE MAN JAPAN TOUR 2025 “OPTIMIZE”, which kicks off in late September and will take the band across six major cities in Japan. The quintet will then also return to the UK and Europe for the second phase of OPTIMIZE, starting end of November in Manchester. The EP follows their latest single releases ‘INCOMPLETE‘ and ‘CHASING SHADOWS‘.

Vocalist Masato shares about the EP and their upcoming live dates: “We’re beyond excited to finally announce our new five track EP ‘OPTIMIZE’ is coming out this Oct! Also since we had such an incredible time in Germany last month we wanted share with you a part of that memory. Go watch us play our brand new single ‘CHASING SHADOWS’ at Summer Breeze! It was a very special moment playing at midnight with the moon in the sky. After you get hyped with that video get ready to experience a much more intense pure energy coldrain show this winter on our headline tour!! We’ll be playing new songs from the EP along with various tunes across our history!””

To keep the energy of their festival summer alive, coldrain have shared a live video of ‘CHASING SHADOWS’, recorded during their powerful set at Summer Breeze Open Air Festival in Germany this August. Capturing their intense stage presence as well high energy, fans and new audiences alike definitely should not want to miss their upcoming tour.

ABOUT coldrain
Formed in 2007 in Nagoya, Japan, and with a total of seven studio albums under their belt, coldrain is certainly not a new name in the scene. While releasing music in English, the quintet is known for blending melodic singing with heavy instrumentals and screaming, finding the perfect balance between genres. Through touring with international names such as Bullet for My Valentine and Papa Roach, coldrain has built an international audience over the years.
