NEW ALBUM EVERYTHING WE LOVE, WE DESTROY OUT ON 6TH NOVEMBER

06th November 2026:

Swiss noise-rock outfit COILGUNS release their fifth studio album, Everything We Love, We Destroy, on 6th November 2026 via Humus Records. Born from a year of relentless touring, the ten-track record channels the band’s experiences on the road into a visceral collision of punk, noise-rock and ecstatic chaos, confronting the contradictions, injustices and uncertainties of the world around them.

Following the release of singles ‘Peace Trader’, ‘Carbon Magic’, ‘Everything We Love, We Destroy’ and ‘Platform Decay’, the album sees COILGUNS sharpening their sound while pushing into new musical territory. Their trademark intensity remains firmly intact, but the record makes space for more expansive arrangements, infectious melodies and moments of unexpected fragility. The result is a band embracing everything they have learned while refusing to stand still.

At its core, Everything We Love, We Destroy is a record about the things we claim to value, and the ways we continue to undermine them. From climate inaction and environmental destruction to political hypocrisy, digital misinformation and the growing normalisation of global conflict, COILGUNS confront the disconnect between the world we promise to build and the reality we continue to create.

The album’s title track takes aim at the failure to honour the promises made through the Paris Climate Accords, questioning how a decade of commitments can lead to a future that looks so bleak. ‘Carbon Magic’ continues the environmental critique, taking aim at carbon-offsetting schemes and the industries attempting to profit from the climate emergency. Meanwhile, ‘Peace Trader’ examines Switzerland’s self-image as a neutral haven for diplomacy and human rights, questioning the gap between that ideal and the country’s political and economic realities.

Elsewhere, ‘Platform Decay’ celebrates the hackers and internet activists fighting to preserve an independent digital world amid the erosion of trust and reliable information. ‘Replication Crisis’ turns its attention inwards, drawing a parallel between the difficulty of verifying scientific research and our own struggles to understand love, friendship and human connection. ‘Teach Ourselves’ calls for men to take responsibility for challenging patriarchal behaviours, while the brief but devastating ‘Days Before the War’ reflects on the privilege of imagining the future without the fear of conflict hanging over those we love.

Despite its unflinching subject matter, the record is not content to wallow in despair. Instead, COILGUNS turn frustration into something physical: music built for collective release, movement and connection. As the band explain: “We see a sad world losing hope, and we choose to respond with electricity and sweat.”

Musically, the album marks a significant step forward. Having welcomed bassist Kevin into the songwriting process from the earliest stages, COILGUNS have developed a more rhythm-driven approach, allowing the bass and drums to take centre stage while the guitars explore more textural territory. The result is a dynamic record that moves between punishing, math-rock-inflected urgency and some of the most melodic, groove-led passages the band have written to date.

The album was recorded in the band’s hometown of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, with producer Scott Evans (Thrice, La Dispute, Neurosis) travelling from the US to capture the band in their own environment. Mixing duties once again fell to Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Pixies, Royal Blood, Tigercub), whose work helps bring cohesion to the record’s wide-ranging sonic palette. From the contrasting drum sounds that shape the title track’s emotional arc to the pulsating synths and unexpected harmonium on ‘Platform Decay’, the album rewards close listening without sacrificing the raw immediacy that defines COILGUNS.

Formed in 2011, COILGUNS emerged from Switzerland’s DIY hardcore scene before carving out their own explosive blend of punk and ecstatic noise-rock. Known for their uncompromising live performances, the band have built a reputation among dancing freaks, crowd-surfing weirdos and audiences drawn to music that demands a physical response. Their fourth album, released in November 2024, marked a turning point, leading to their most extensive touring cycle to date, with more than 85 shows worldwide in 2025.

Returning from the road with fresh perspectives and renewed urgency, COILGUNS have channelled that momentum into Everything We Love, We Destroy: a record that confronts the absurdity of the present without surrendering to it. For a band who have always found catharsis in noise, the answer remains loud, immediate and defiantly human.

About Coilguns

Formed in 2011, COILGUNS emerged from Switzerland’s DIY hardcore scene before developing their own explosive collision of punk, noise-rock and ecstatic chaos. Known for their raw, uncompromising and euphoric live shows, the band have built a reputation as a force for dancing freaks, crowd-surfing weirdos and anyone looking for music with a physical impact.

The band’s history is closely tied to guitarist Jona Nido’s independent label Humus Records, which now boasts more than 170 releases from artists across Switzerland’s diverse underground scene. Following years of self-production, COILGUNS recorded their fourth studio album with producer Scott Evans at Norway’s Ocean Sound Recordings in 2022, with Tom Dalgety subsequently mixing the record. Released in 2024, the album launched the band into their most extensive touring cycle to date, with more than 85 shows worldwide in 2025.

They returned home from the road to record their fifth album at Humus Records’ headquarters — an old warehouse in the centre of La Chaux-de-Fonds packed with vintage equipment — with Scott Evans travelling to Switzerland to capture the band in their own environment. The resulting album, Everything We Love, We Destroy, sees COILGUNS channel everything they’ve experienced on the road into their most immediate and urgent record yet.
