Today – Monday 13th June – Cloud X Festival announces its return on 7th August this year after a triumphant, sold-out debut in 2021. London’s best boutique festival is back to celebrate quality music in the capital with a range of incredible artists including; Biig Piig, Spinall, Felix The 1st, Jojo, Nayana IZ, Sam Wise, Santino Le Saint, Sasha Keable and Scuti, hosted at East London’s, Studio 338. Co-founded by David Dabieh and Ben Cross, Cloud X has become an integral part of the city’s independent music scene through its events, label, and management team, providing a much-needed space for underrepresented artists. They are unmatched in their passion and approach to everything they do with a genuine love for nurturing artists and communities from the ground up. When speaking about the festival David Dabieh (Cloud X Co-founder) said:

“Cloud X aims to nurture and encourage the quality of simply being oneself! Every year our boutique and homegrown Cloud X Festival aims to curate an inclusive space for the next generation of pioneering creatives that are telling their stories in bold and original ways. It’s all in the detail! Championing soul, R&B and alternative sounds we hope to give an intimate, inspiring and soul-warming day out. We were humbled to see the sellout response and feedback after last year’s debut Cloud X Festival just two weeks out of lockdown, and we’ve been so blessed to see the growth of artists such as Lola Young (now Brit nominated), Juls (now Grammy-nominated), Sainte and more since then. We can’t wait to share this year’s lineup for live performers, food vendors and selectors, roll on the Summer of Love!”

Cloud X have never limited themselves to one genre and this year’s lineup proves that spanning across the full spectrum. Joined by one of the founding members of West London’s pioneering NiNE8 CollectiveBiig Piig will be performing her adaptive take on Hip-Hop, Pop and Neo-Soul all with her soft, yet ethereal vocal at the forefront. The Cork native is best known for her breakout singles ‘Feels Right’ and ‘Oh No’, collabs with Lava La Rue and Metronomy and she took to Instagram last week to confirm that she’ll be releasing new music this month. Joining the family affair alongside Biig Piig is fellow NiNE8 member, genre-bending artist NAYANA IZ who broke out with her debut EP ‘SMOKE & FLY’ and has been going from strength to strength ever since. Born in India and raised in North London, her music straddles various genres and cultures all with an authentic, personal approach.

After recently featuring on Dreya Mac’s viral hit “Own Brand (Baddie)” remix, West London rapper FelixThe1st has been riding the high and joins the lineup promising to deliver one of his trademark high-energy performances. Alongside him is fellow South London rapper, Sam Wise, one of the UK’s most loved artists within the Alt-Hip-Hop space and applauded for his unmissable live shows. Last year he dropped his critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Free Game’ – featuring Lord Apex and Knucks – demonstrating Sam’s witty storytelling, impeccable flows and fluid approach to genre and tone.
South London songstress Sasha Keable will be showcasing her jaw-dropping vocals on the day, blending the best bits of R&B and Neo-Soul creating her own unique soundscape. From her recent collab with Jorja Smith on her EP, ‘Intermission’ to her work in de-stigmatising the persona around mental health, Sasha is one of our most cherished voices. Nigerian tastemaker, SPINALL will be taking over the garden terrace stage with his impeccable music selection. Unrivalled as one of Africa’s most successful DJs he’s performed at the likes of Afronation and Glastonbury as well as collaborating with the likes of WizKid, Burna Boy, Davido, Fireboy DML, and Omah Lay to name a few.

Bubbling rapper Scuti has been touring the country and joins the line up adding her eclectic sonic range and undeniable energy to the day. Making noise with tracks like ‘Skoowup’ and KitKat’, Scuti has been putting the work in which is finally paying off through her growing fanbase.  Cloud X family and resident JOJO will be making an appearance with some of her afterparty sets going down in history. Having had her mixes played on Kiss, Foundation FM and Plus 1 Radio to name a few, expect 10/10 energy and music spanning across; House, UK Funky, Dancehall, Garage and everything in between. This year’s festival is in partnership with New Wave Magazine an independent platform bridging the gap between established and emerging creatives. They provide a space for all creatives to be recognised and an avenue for them to express their thoughts across Fashion, Music, Art, Photography, Architecture and more. Last but not least, Cloud X has teamed up with South London charity, Raw Materials – a creative art and music centre for young people and adults – who create a platform and framework to support people getting into the industry.

With last year selling out only two weeks out of covid and more to be revealed over the coming months, be sure to sign up via Cloud X festival website to not miss your chance of attending.
