“Their new single ‘Holly Green’ takes inspiration from powerhouses like Hum and Failure and weaves a thick atmosphere of rhythmic melodies around Alice Hirsch’s efflorescent vocals.” – The Alternative

Hailing from Montreal, Cloned Apparition is an alternative rock band driven by the sounds of shoegaze, grunge, and hardcore. Today the band announce their singing to Static Era Records (Clearbody, Splitview) and share new single “Holly Green.” Alongside the single, Static Era have launched a preorder for Spring Powered, a vinyl release featuring Cloned Apparition’s entire discography of past releases.

“Holly Green” blends through dense distortion, lush melodies, and an emotional vocal delivery. Taking influence from bands like Hum and Helmet, Cloned Apparition has written a cathartic earworm that would appeal to listeners of contemporaries like Greet Death and Modern Color.

Vocalist Alice Hirsch shares on the deeply personal lyrics:

“Holly Green is a song about my late stepmother, named Holly, who passed away in 2018 from cancer. It’s a song about how grieving never heals, it simply hurts less and how things on a personal and global outlook seemed to have gotten worse since her passing hence lines like ‘the grass is greener on the other side’ and ‘heaven’s only a mile away.”

Holly Green is a shade of green that is pretty similar to that of grass or overall greenery. It’s a calming shade of green, not too loud and not too drab. My stepmother was really the source of calm in my life during tumultuous times, and help me through a lot so the connection was made there and that’s why I chose that title.”

Following the two releases, the band has completed 2 US tours and numerous perfomrnaces in Canada, sharing the stage with a variety of bands including Askysoblack, Omerta, Prowl and Spite House. Cloned Apparition have two upcoming shows this month, and plans to release more new music next year.
