Hailing from the south side of Chicago, SI DIOS QUIERE are making hardcore that reps their city and draws inspiration from the member’s shared Mexican background. Today the band announces its first full-length, No Angels, set for release October 25th on New Morality Zine, and share the title track. Following the fire early single “Fool’s Gold,” “No Angels” continues to put emphasis on the band’s raw, hard-hitting approach. As signified in both sound and lyrics, it’s “not for the weak.” Vocalist Ozzy Jimenez is joined by Andy Zarate of Dallas, TX metallic hardcore band Soledad, adding extra fury to the track. You can listen to “No Angels” HERE.
On the single, Jimenez shares:
“We’re all battling our own demons. We’re all internally dealing with our own battles and sometimes it can feel like you have no angels looking out for you. The loneliness one feels when facing these obstacles with no one to turn to. It can feel like you’re being punished for your own sins. So you have to break free and write your own destiny.”
Originally formed in 2020 by guitarist Christian Guajardo and drummer Ricardo Velazquez, SI DIOS QUIERE came into its own in late 2022 when Jimenez took over vocal duties. Rounded out by guitarist Roberto Velazquez and bassist Louie Flores, the band dropped a two-song promo in summer 2023 that highlighted a definitive sound from prior releases. Taking influence from bands like Madball and Rotting Out, SI DIOS QUIERE focus on mosh heavy rhythms and and a tough delivery. The upcoming No Angels was recorded and produced by Collin St. Mary at 19 Stars NWI, out in Chesterton Indiana.
No Angels is available for preorder now through New Morality Zine.
