NASHVILLE, TN (July 19, 2024) – Chase McDaniel today releases his new song “Heart Still Works” via Big Machine Records. A raw admittance of the spiral of post-break-up thoughts and feelings, the Rock-tinged track finds its narrator working his way through a wave of emotions (concern, angst, pain) before ultimately landing on relief—the silver lining that through it all, he still has the capability to feel. Written by McDaniel alongside writer/producer Lindsay Rimes and GRAMMY®-winning songwriter Josh Osborne, this track jumpstarts the heart with stripped-back verses and a jolting chorus, dripping with electric guitar and pure adrenaline, reactivating the nervous system.

“Avoiding dealing with your thoughts and feelings can kind of leave you numb and after being desensitized for so long and then finally deciding to deal with it can be really painful, but there is beauty in that pain, because at least you know your heart still works. That is what makes you feel alive again,” shares McDaniel. “I hope others going through it or too afraid to tackle those tough conversations, hear this and find that solace on the other side of it.”
Channelling all of his experiences (the good, the bad and the ugly) into his music, Chase has pursued music as a way to forge meaningful connections by creating a safe environment for people to share their struggles, know they are not alone and share his light. While achieving his life-long dream of performing at the Grand Ole Opry (earlier this month), he gave an inspiring speech about some of the trials and tribulations and persevering through – find it HERE. Following the release of his debut EP Blame It All On Country Music, McDaniel is putting his rich baritone vocals to work and will soon share more of the honest, reflective music that fans have come to expect. Throughout the summer McDaniel will perform across the Country at music festivals, county fairs, and back in Nashville for the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix on September 14th, 2024. ABOUT CHASE McDANIEL:
Raised in the small town of Greensburg, Kentucky by his grandparents, Chase McDaniel is one of Nashville’s most tenacious singer-songwriters and shining example of how kindness, persistence and curiosity pays off. After graduating from University of Louisville, he chased his dream of Country music all the way to Nashville but the streetwise go-getter, who is no stranger to hard times, found misfortune once again—this time courtesy of the pandemic. Jobless and down to his last $12, he almost packed it up and headed home, if not for a friend who loaned him enough to cover rent for just a few more weeks.
