CHARLIE WORSHAM RELEASES TWO MUSICAL VERSIONS OF NEW SINGLE “WRAP MY PORCH AROUND”
Including Bluegrass Take With The Travelin’ McCourys
New Album ‘Once Upon A Second Time Around’ Out August 7th

NASHVILLE, TN. / LONDON, U.K. – (3rd July, 2026) – Today, admired songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Worsham releases two new musical versions of his single, “Wrap My Porch Around”, featuring a bluegrass version accompanied by The Travelin’ McCourys. These will feature on Worsham’s upcoming first independent album, Once Upon A Second Time Around, out August 7th, ahead of his return to the UK later that month.

A love song that is the perfect track about choosing a simple, rooted life with someone you want to build a future with, Worsham stated, “Wrap My Porch Around is one of the most autobiographical songs on the new record, and it felt like the perfect candidate to represent both my love of modern country music AND my love of bluegrass. Of course, I pulled a page from the book of Vince Gill. It was his example, recording two versions of High Lonesome Sound, that inspired me to do the same with Porch. In a full-circle moment, we cut the bluegrass version at Vince’s house. I didn’t even pull my dreadnought out of the case that day, opting for one of Vince’s old D18s.”
He added, “There’s also a nod to Dierks with Porch… I always took note of the way Dierks mixed “the kick ass with the bluegrass” and often featured heroes like Bryan Sutton, Sam Bush, or more often than not, the Travelin’ McCourys on the last track on his records. Songs like “When You Gonna Find A Good Man Like Me,” or one I happened to co-write with Travis Howard, “Heart Of A Lonely Girl.” Keeping a good tradition alive is, to me, one of the most forward-thinking things you can do in country music.”
Worsham also wrapped two electrifying performances over the weekend in celebration of America 250 with events at the historic Grand Ole Opry and downtown Nashville’s yearly Let Freedom Ring! event, where he was joined on stage by Jason Carter on fiddle, Jeff Picker on bass, Gibson Davis on banjo, and Seth Taylor on guitar. The sets included hits such as, “How I Learned To Pray”, “I Hope I’m Stoned (When Jesus Takes Me Home)”, and the new single “Wrap My Porch Around”.
Once Upon A Second Time Around was recorded at multiple notable studios that included Sound Emporium, Sony Tree Studio A, Pinebox Studios, Querencia Sound, and The House. The album was created alongside a trusted circle of collaborators that included percussionist Jerry Roe, bassist Rich Brinsfield, guitarist Kris Donegan, co-producer Jaren Johnston, and executive producer Josh Van Valkenburg. Together, they crafted a record that prioritises musicianship, storytelling, and authenticity over trends and expectations. The new album is already garnering attention from tastemaker media after its announcement, with Music Row praising the first single, stating, “This brilliant, guitar-slinging troubadour is one of Nashville’s greatest hidden treasures. His new single is a poly-rhythmic delight with a personable vocal and some stinging, six-string work.”
A two-time ACM Acoustic Guitar Player of the Year and CMA Musician of the Year, Worsham has long been recognised as one of Nashville’s most respected musicians and collaborators. Known to be a first-call collaborator among Nashville’s elite, he has penned songs recorded by artists including Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, and Dierks Bentley. Whether standing center-stage at the Grand Ole Opry or working in the studio with icons like Eric Church, Kacey Musgraves, Ella Langley, Max McNown or Carrie Underwood, it has earned him some of country music’s biggest fans amongst these circles.
Once Upon A Second Time Around places the spotlight squarely on his artistry as a songwriter and storyteller.

ABOUT CHARLIE WORSHAM:
Twenty years after moving to Nashville, Charlie Worsham has become one of Music City’s true multi-hyphenates: an acclaimed solo artist, award-winning instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, podcast host, and one of the most respected musicians in town. Once Upon a Second Time Around showcases those chops while highlighting the perspective he’s gained not only as a musical lifer, but as a dedicated husband and father, as well. The album makes room for the full range of his influences: the banjo-heavy bluegrass music he grew up playing in Mississippi; the guitar-driven rock & roll of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Tom Petty; the transportive storytelling of James Taylor and Don Schlitz; the genre-spanning exploration of Vince Gill and Marty Stuart. Released after a decade-long stint on a major label’s roster, Once Upon a Second Time Around embraces the hard-won freedom of a musician who’s helped shape the sound of modern-day country music — but is no longer defined by its rules.
