ANKOR is an Alternative Metal band based in Catalonia, Spain, fast becoming one of the rising stars in the European contemporary metal scene.
The multicultural quintet, consisting of vocalist Jessie Williams (Bristol, UK), drummer Eleni Nota (Athens, Greece), guitarists David Romeu, Fito Martinez and bassist Julio López (Catalonia, Spain), today release their new mini-album, ‘Shoganai’, on UNFD.
Speaking of the release, frontwoman Jessie says, “Shoganai (Mini album vol.1) is a journey through different states of mind that we wanted to represent in seven chapters and seven visual stories. Mixing genres, styles and sounds, we’ve shown the evolution of the band, which has led us to take our music to thousands of new listeners around the globe. Enter the world of Ankor and Shoganai, and get ready to rediscover metal music like you’ve never done before.”
Of the mini-album’s title track, she shares, “Shoganai is the seventh and last chapter of the Darkbeat saga. A song to which we tried to add elements that make it different from the others. Probably the least commercial of the chapters, but we’re sure it will the favourite of many. Thank you for accompanying us on this journey and for joining the family.”
