C E L A V I ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE AR DY LINIAU (ON YOUR KNEES) AND NEW EP PRAELIA
Welsh bilingual nu-metal duo C E L A V I have released their new single and video AR DY LINIAU (ON YOUR KNEES). Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?
Formed by married duo Gwion Griffiths and Sarah Wynn Griffiths, C E L A V I have earned support from Metal Hammer, BBC Radio 1, Kerrang! Radio and BBC 6 Music, alongside a Match of the Day sync. BBC Radio 1 declared: “C E L A V I — remember that name.”
Following a standout performance at Download Festival — where they became the first band ever to perform in Welsh at the festival — the duo continue their momentum with a performance at Pro Weekend Fest 2026 in Spain this autumn.
Their landmark Download Festival appearance is also documented in Sgrechian (Screaming), a documentary from Welsh-language broadcaster S4C’s digital platform, Hansh. The film follows the band’s journey to Download Festival and captures the significance of becoming the first band to perform in Welsh at the iconic festival. Taking its title from the Latin word for “battles,” PRAELIA sees C E L A V I push their sound further than ever. Produced by Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Motörhead, Nova Twins), the EP blends punishing riffs, melodic hooks and darker industrial textures with the duo’s trademark bilingual songwriting.
Proudly rooted in their Welsh heritage, C E L A V I combine Welsh and English lyrics to explore themes of identity, resilience, mental health and self-expression. Sarah says: “PRAELIA is heavy, full of chaotic and melodic empowering anthems. It’s cathartic. It’s all about facing battles and fighting back.” Gwion says: “The EP is fused with our 2000s nu-metal influences, but it’s a progression in our sound — it’s heavier, angrier, and we’re pushing even more boundaries.”
With AR DY LINIAU (ON YOUR KNEES) introducing the next chapter and PRAELIA arriving in November, C E L A V I continue to carve out a distinctive place within the UK’s emerging heavy-music scene — combining uncompromising energy, bilingual songwriting and a proudly Welsh identity.
EP Track listing: 1. AR DY LINIAU (ON YOUR KNEES); 2. 13; 3. MALUM; 4. PLASTER.
