Debut Project Once Bit Never Bored Out Now

Up and coming alt-rock two-piece Taipei Houston, comprised of Myles and Layne Ulrich, unveil the music video for their new song ‘Respecter’. From their debut project, ‘Once Bit Never Bored’, the song’s video is a compact, yet explosive visual of the duo doing what they do best, performing.

‘Once Bit Never Bored’also out now via C3 Records, is filled with tightly constructed, energetic songs pulling from different facets of rock – punk, grunge, and garage – craving to be played loud.

Taipei Houston are a Bay Area duo created by brothers Myles (drums, guitar) and Layne Ulrich (lead vocals, bass) after reuniting during the pandemic. They then moved to Los Angeles, and once able to perform live again, started playing shows throughout Southern California.

On the project, ‘Once Bit Never Bored’Taipei Houston viscerally tapped into all of the best parts of the last 30 years of rock ‘n’ roll, layering garage rock’s frenetic sparsity with grunge’s fuzzy overdrive, and psych rock’s effortless instrumental sprawl. The band’s megawatt, slinky songs instantly conjure other iconic duos, such as The Kills, Death From Above 1979, and The White Stripes.

‘Once Bit Never Bored’ is “a dip into the way we see things,” says frontman Layne Ulrich. “These songs came about at a time when we felt really upside down. I think they reflect a certain unease in the world right now.” “This record is about going up when everyone else goes down, going right when everyone else goes left,” adds drummer, guitarist Myles Ulrich. “We hope it makes you dance and headbang at the same time, but either/or is fine!”

Earlier this year the band played sets at Reading & Leeds Festival, Austin City Limits, Aftershock Festival, and Louder Than Life in addition to shows opening for Muse. In February 2023, you can catch the duo opening for White Reaper in various cities across the U.S. and Canada.
