Brooklyn, NY indie/emo trio wakelee has announced an April 14th release date for its self-titled 12-track album, produced by Superbloom’s Brian DiMeglio (Bartees Strange, Stay Inside, Proper). Frontman/guitarist Alex Bulmer says “We cannot be more excited about how these songs came out. It represents both where our music is and our best next step forward. Having a full-length album out for people to listen to is a collective bucket list item for us.” Pre-order vinyl here: wakeleemusic.com. Watch for the new single coming on March 10. Formed in Brooklyn in 2019 by Bulmer, his identical twin brother David (drums) and Elliot Shiang (vocals/bass), they met at a friend’s show in NYC and immediately bonded over Halal food and indie music. The trio has since released an EP, a healthy batch of emo-tinged singles, including the recently released tracks “Mood Rings,” “Everything Under The Sun” and “Outside.” |

“Outside”“Outside was written from the idea that I often use a nice sunny day to distract myself and to clear my head, but living in New York doesn’t always allow that.” “Everything Under The Sun”“Everything Under the Sun is about a relationship that slipped away and all the thoughts that swarm when you get a moment to yourself.” |
