British kraut rocker Matt Finucane has announced the release of his new EP, “Bang Bang Exorcism”, through Eyeless Records on September 27th, 2024, and is set for a physical and digital release, including on cassette.

The track listing for the EP is:
A1) Run With the Freaks – 3:34
A2) Dear Darkness – 4:05
A3) Witchcraft Mind – 3:53
B1) Dark Hills – 3:38
B2) The Jazzmaster – 3:41
B3) A Piece of Dad’s Old Hearth – 6:22

Speaking about the EP, Finucane said:
“Bang Bang Exorcism is a loud, raw emotional catharsis captured on record in Portslade, of all places. It takes darkness, introspection and a lifetime of emotional damage and makes them fun… Then torches them all with righteous energy.”

The EP came about when Matt and drummer Barney Guy realized they both liked trance music in the car on long drives to gigs… So why not capture the feel and tone of it, but in a primal rock format? And why not go deep, and make it an actual exorcism? Themes of isolation, mental disturbance and the ghosts and shadows of the past vented in psychodrama and big feedback and weirdness: it’s absolutely unholy, and nothing more is needed.

The new follows the release of Matt’s latest single ‘Run With The Freaks’ which came out on July 21st. Speaking about the release, Matt said:

“The single’s simple message is that it’s more fun to run with the freaks: the outsiders, the aliens, the mutants… The song celebrates that unique atmosphere of maladjustment and mad joy they create.”
