British Extreme Metallers Existentialist Release New Video For ‘Wretchedness ov Existence’ On May 30th!

British extreme metallers Existentialist have released their new video ‘Wretchedness Ov Existence’ today (May 30th, 2025) through Seek & Strike. The new track comes from the band’s upcoming EP “Terminal” which is set for release on June 27th, 2025. ‘Wretchedness Ov Existence’ follows previous track ‘Death Before Death’ on March 28th, 2025.

Speaking about the track, the band have said:
“This one doesn’t waste time. There’s no build-up, no slow start—it just slams you right out of the gate. We wanted something that felt immediate and unforgiving. The riffs are heavier, the tone is sharper, and the breakdowns are some of the biggest we’ve ever written. It’s stripped back in a way that makes everything hit harder—no filler, just pure weight.

We weren’t trying to be clever with this one. We just wanted to go all in on that raw, unfiltered aggression. And honestly, it’s one of the most fun tracks to play live because of that energy. It’s the kind of song that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go until the last note.”

The band’s new outing, “Terminal” is a concept EP written as one continuous piece of music, accompanied by a series of 1920’s horror inspired music videos. Speaking about “Terminal” the band have said:
“With this release, we wanted to take a different approach—both thematically and musically—to make it feel like a true standalone project for us. The content of the tracks is more honest and grounded than anything we’ve done before, diving deep into the human condition and how it shapes us as individuals.

Musically, it’s still unapologetically us, but we’ve pushed into new territory with fresh sounds and an overall different energy. Some moments are slower, more reflective. Others hit with full intensity. That contrast felt necessary. The entire process, writing, recording, living inside these songs, changed each of us in different ways. We believe the final product will hit every listener differently too. That’s what makes it real.”

The track listing for “Terminal” is:
1. Death Before Death
2. Wretchedness ov Existence
3. Wraithchild
4. Garden of Bones (Orchestral Bonus Track)

Formed in 2015 by guitarist Jonny Flack and drummer Olly Winn (who also writes the orchestration sections), Existentialist, a symphonic black/death metal band went on to release their debut “Prophet of Ignorance” during the pandemic of 2020. Once gigs returned, the band exploded onto the live scene in July 2021, quickly gaining a reputation for their stunning performances and razor-sharp precision, which led to an appearance at Bloodstock Festival in 2022. This led to the band meeting with their soon-to-be record label Seek and Strike, which saw the release of their 2023 sophomore album “The Heretic”.

“The Heretic” gained a stream of glowing reviews across the scene and saw the band further tour in support to Drown In Sulphur and Osiah, as well as support to Paleface Swiss and Bound in Fear. They also enjoyed a sell-out co-headline tour for their album launch in 2023.

In March 2025 the band debuted “Terminal” in an hour-long headline show to a packed house at the Colchester Arts Centre, (which has previously hosted acts such as Whitechapel, Cradle of Filth and Architects). The result was one of the most energetic and violent shows the venue had seen. Brimming with ideas and aggression; Existentialist steam into the rest of the 2025 with a striking EP and an incredible command of the live arena, filled with a devoted fan base that only continues to grow.
