Critically acclaimed blues-rock, guitar maestro Anthony Gomes is back with the next single from his upcoming album, Praise the Loud. The single is the upbeat rocker “True That” which showcases the rock influence on Anthony’s style. The lyrics of the song are a cautionary tale about what happens to a relationship when one person is busted as an unfaithful lover. The music video demonstrates this storyline, and the victim even comes out on top in the end. The video for “True That” was directed by Jamie Brown for Smoking Gun Inc and can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHUrbYR3drQ. “I wrote ‘True That’ with my good friend Jim Peterik. As most of you know, Jim’s written mega songs like ‘Eye Of The Tiger,’ ‘Vehicle,’ ‘Heavy Metal’ and ‘Hold On Loosely.’ The song is about an unfaithful lover. Many of us have been there and it’s hard, right? We wanted to approach the subject from a place of strength and empowerment. The idea of moving on with dignity. Laughter is the best medicine, and we threw in a few funny lines – ‘She said you know my love’s a crime, I’ve had twenty husbands but only two of them were mine.’ We wrote the song in 90 minutes. It seems like the good ones come quickly. We demoed it the next day and now it’s ready for the world to hear,” explains Anthony Gomes.
