Bergen, Norway- Blood Command have announced the release their brand-new single ‘Losing Faith’. The track opens up a slightly new twist from Blood Command’s distinct rock sound. The song still encapsulates the band’s self-proclaimed ‘Death Pop’ style but with an acoustic ballad about the shame and grief that comes with unrequited love. Proving they are one of the most interesting and forward-thinking bands in the alternative world. “When I met Yngve, we just clicked right away.” says lead singer Nikki Brumen. “I could really relate to Yngve’s lyric and the first night we sat down and wrote together was one of the best nights of my life. Writing felt seamless and what made this extra special is that we had both never written with anyone else. We sat in a hotel in the middle of London with a bottle of whiskey and Yngve explained how he wanted to write about someone denying their love but as the song progresses, it’s revealed how the person really feels. He had heard a sad cowboy song with a similar message, so we wanted to really hone in on that sound. When we were writing, we had also discussed ways to add dynamic to the new songs we were creating, and I think this song does this perfectly, with Yngve’s vocal throughout the whole song. Our voices work perfectly together and it gives it even more of a sad country feel with the duet.” LISTEN HERE + WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
‘Losing Faith’ was recorded in SpaceKraft Studio in Bergen by Simon Jackman (Bokassa, Ondt Blod, Golden Core), produced by Blood Command’s very own Yngve Andersen, mixed and mastered by Simon Jackman and Dag Erik Nygaard and artwork by Robert Høyem. Blood Command have been working tirelessly since 2008, touring their home of Norway and abroad, most recently having done their first ever Australian tour. The band are also no strangers to critical acclaim for both their electric live shows and brilliant albums. Losing Faith is released on UK’s Hassle Records and Norwegian Loyal Blood Records. |
