Black Coast release music video for ‘REAL (are you listening?)’:
A final pre-release glimpse of their ‘Black Coast’ EP – out tomorrow: The band will appear at Bloodstock in August and tour with Rituals kicks off tonight “Channelling the floatiness of Deftones, the melody-mangling of Incubus and the aggression of Limp Bizkit, all tied together nicely by a thoroughly modern tone, they have all the makings of being your new favourite band.” – Metal Hammer “Black Coast’s self-titled EP is their most focused effort to date.” – KNOTFEST “one of the UK’s most exciting heavy prospects” – Rock Sound “Full of powerful songs, rich sounds and slick riffs ‘Black Coast’ is a strong statement. Don’t miss it.” – Punktastic “Trust us: this EP is best listened to with the volume turned all the way up. It is a triumph.” – Distorted Sound “off the charts when an utterly filthy, nu-metal charged riff erupts from out of the darkness.” – Noizze UK “Authentic and impressive” – Boolin Tunes “A gem of an EP that will keep you coming back for more.” – Metal Noise |
On the eve of their self-titled EP release, Stoke’s Black Coast have unveiled one last biting track from the collection – ‘REAL (are you listening?)’. Watch the music video now. Vocalist Charlie Hewitt says it’s “about being surrounded by fake people who act like they’re your friend and know you when they don’t. Especially in the music industry – a lot of the time it’s difficult to know who is real and who isn’t.” Rooted in metal but seamlessly building a plethora of genre elements including hardcore, old school grunge and nu metal into one another, Black Coast have had an explosive start to 2023. The first single from their self-titled EP, ‘Mercy’, garnered some serious attention over at BBC Radio 1’s specialist shows, receiving three spins in one night. The track’s also been in steady rotation on Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood. ‘Chains’ followed, with Metal Hammer calling it “another notch in their banger-stitched belt” and Kerrang! placing the track in their weekly Chart playlist, amongst further radio play. Black Coast’s new music is the sound of a band assured in their direction and opening up a new avenue for heavy music in the UK. The ‘Black Coast’ EP was produced, recorded and mixed by Sam Bloor at Lower Lane Studios and mastered by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering. Black Coast were also recently announced for this year’s iconic Bloodstock Festival amongst a line-up that also includes In Flames and Killswitch Engage. And they’re off to play a series of dates with Rituals in celebration of the EP’s release next week. When experiencing them live, expect a raw orchestra of emotion and aggression with a harmony of pitch-shifting guitar, hard-hitting drums and haunting vocals.
