Big Big Train, the award-winning, progressive rock band, released their 16^th studio album via InsideOutMusic on 6^th February 2026. ‘Woodcut’ is a landmark release for the group, whose line-up draws together members from England, Scotland, Italy, the USA, Sweden and Norway, in that it marks their first ever full-length conceptual piece – quite a statement given the musical depth and storytelling qualities of a band formed in Bournemouth way back in 1990. ‘Woodcut’ is a continuous narrative exploring creativity, sacrifice and the thin line between inspiration and madness and featuring a character called The Artist.

The band celebrated the release of their album with a series of acoustic instore appearances in the UK and today they are launching a live recording of the band performing ‘Chimaera’ live at Banquet Records.

Alberto Bravin comments: “To celebrate the release of our new studio album Woodcut, last weekend Clare Lindley, Gregory Spawton and I played a couple of short acoustic sets in the UK. It was great fun to play a few songs live from Woodcut for the first time and made us look forward even more to playing songs from the album with the whole band next month in Southampton and on board Cruise To The Edge.”
