Birmingham’s Rock 10-piece, Big Band Of Boom, have today shared their brand-new single, ‘Energy Vampire’, via Ragtime Records. Pure fun from start to finish, ‘Energy Vampire’, mixes catchy, singalong hooks with a tongue-in-cheek message.
Speaking of the new single, the band share, “Energy Vampire is about that guy at a party who drains the vibe. Lurking in the corners, talking your ear off about crypto, or insisting everyone listen while they get their acoustic guitar. If you don’t know an energy vampire then maybe the vampire is you…”
Talking about the recording process, the band continue, “We recorded the drums with James Bragg at Propagation House, where one of the rooms makes drums sound absolutely massive. Getting the horns sounding right is essential to our sound, we track all six players together as a section in a big room to get the vibe, and then each musicians individually for the power. Guitars and vocals were all done from our little studio in Birmingham, which we have christened ‘Big Little Studios, because its a tiny room, but we make things sound huge.”
