In September 2025, Essex’s resident death metallers BEYOND EXTINCTION released their cataclysmically anthropic debut album “Where They Gather”, which was crowned #46 in Metal Hammer’s Top 50 Albums of 2025 and labelled as “a deathcore record so feral and untamed it has the potential to become a scene standout.”

Saturday 7th March will be your chance to put your end-of-the-world plans into action, as BEYOND EXTINCTION team up with Camden’s Raven Records for an apocalyptic pop-up pre-show event before the deathcore prodigies play through their debut album in full for one night only in London’s Black Heart.

The pop-up event is free entry and works on a first-come-first-served basis, and will include merch signings, limited edition prints, exclusive items, an album artwork gallery, a Q+A session, and a collectors holographic laminate available only to the first 15 people to arrive at the store.

Vocalist Jasper Harmer expands on this special occasion:

“With a huge spread of things on offer, we can’t wait to share an afternoon with you. We’ll be doing signings throughout, so bring your own CD/Vinyl or buy one at Raven Records on the day, with a stock of the original pressings for sale. We’ll also have some limited edition prints, laminates and more available – a separate and exclusive spread of merch items at the show that evening. Oh – and first 15 people to arrive get a collectors holographic laminate for free – never made again.

Downstairs there’ll be a gallery-style display of a variety of artwork prints along with the full album wide piece presented in its entirety. Artist of all of the artwork related to the album and our friend – Max Marshall – will be there on the day as well with an opportunity to speak to him about his creative process.

From 3pm a Q+A will begin, allowing for some questions to be put to us and stories about the journey in creating the album to be told. Best of all – it’s FREE ENTRY and we’ve collaborated with one of the most unique record stores in London. We can’t wait to celebrate Where They Gather in this special setting before our headline show.”

Their headline Black Heart show will be your only opportunity to witness “Where They Gather” as it was fully intended – a concept record best experienced from front to back, immersing yourself in the dystopic wasteland of the final settlement on Earth. With support coming from sludgy extreme metallers Mastiff and industrial post-hardcore outfit Tribe Of Ghosts to complete the night, you won’t want to miss this “I was there!” moment.

Creating a visually compelling backdrop to their music is a constant element in BEYOND EXTINCTION’s song-writing, embossing their lyrics and ambient soundscapes with personal horrors and realisations. Dense and asphyxiatingly heavy, “Where They Gather” offers a hazed vision of pain and loss, introspection and anthropy, and hindsight and foresight into a world that was not built for us.

2025 was not only the year that saw the fruits of their labour come into fruition in the form of BEYOND EXTINCTION’s long-awaited anticipated debut album, “Where They Gather”, but they’d also hit the road and performed an array of select headline dates and three successful “I was there!” co-headline shows with blackened deathcore southerners To Obey A Tyrant, Gutrectomy and Kanine, as well as an opening slot at London’s Underworld with straightedge Australians To The Grave and long-time northern savage besties Osiah.

ABOUT BEYOND EXTINCTION:

It’s not been an easy journey for the Essex based four-piece, with a long and difficult recovery for the band after losing founding member and lead guitarist Zach Scott in 2023 at just 20 years old. 2024 saw the childhood school friends put together a memorial show, titled Never Forget Your Own, a moniker Zach had tattooed on him, at London’s Underworld in celebration of a life well-lived. The stellar line-up of bands, of which Zach had been involved with in one form or another, consisted of headliners Osiah, Beyond Extinction, Godeater, Bitterwood, Existentialist, Dygora, Glower, and How Long You Been Driving. All proceeds were split and donated to three mental health and suicide prevention charities: Help Musicians, Young Minds, and Campaign Against Living Miserably.

In the aftermath and through sheer determination, passion, and the addition of guitarist Danny Russel, who joins Jasper Harmer [vocals], Jude Bennett [guitars], and Niall Ali [drums], death metallers BEYOND EXTINCTION have risen to the challenge. After countless UK tours, festival appearances and two stellar EPs, The Fatal Flaws of Humankind [2021] and Nothing More Wretched [2023], their first full length arrives this autumn.

“Danny didn’t just fill a space in the band, he set a new course for us,” confesses drummer Niall Ali. “His vision didn’t just complement ours, it expanded it, adding new colours to our music’s soundscape. You can feel his fingerprints in the icy tension of ‘Winter Sun’, his rhythmic intricacies are interwoven through the album’s atmosphere.” Danny Russel adds, “Before I joined the band officially, I had written ‘Winter Sun’ in full and presented it to the guys. They loved it so much it didn’t need revising. I am very happy to have later been involved in the remainder of the writing process.”

Vocalist and lyricist Jasper Harmer talks about the process of bringing his dystopian but scarily familiar world to life: “My lyrics are the amalgamation of all the ills of our cities and urban living projected onto a bleak and damning story of our future. In some ways it is a grim and depressing prediction of our civilisation’s final destination. Truly, this city is the place where all my hate has come to live. Truly, I hope we never end up there.”
