Scottish post-metal sextet Beneath a Steel Sky is thrilled to unveil their latest single, “Cyclical Dunt,” now streaming via Decibel Magazine, who praised the track, saying, “the new record is dark, atmospheric, and heavy, blending emotional themes with deep and heavy tones.” Taken from their highly anticipated debut album, “Cleave,” set for release on January 24th via Ripcord Records, the single offers another glimpse into the band’s dynamic sound and innovative approach to songwriting. Listen to “Cyclical Dunt” here! Speaking about the track, the band shares: “The idea for ‘Cyclical Dunt’ stemmed from the odd-metered arpeggio that remains constant. We wanted to write something that evolved and developed around this device, adding and removing layers to increase the intensity over the course of the song.” Born out of the bleakness and uncertainty of the Coronavirus lockdown in 2020, Beneath a Steel Sky began as an instrumental project and has since evolved into a full band ensemble. With their sights set on the future, the band is gearing up for the release of Cleave, which promises to showcase their growth and unique sound by blending atmospheric elements with heavy riffs.
Across seven tracks, Cleave takes listeners on a deeply emotional journey through desolate and contemplative landscapes, making occasional detours into more intense territories characterized by thunderous rhythms and earth-shifting riffs. Pre-orders are now available at this location. |
