29.01.2025 – Musicians and celebrities attended the LA premiere of Becoming Led Zeppelin, the first officially sanctioned film about the iconic group at the TCL Chinese Theatre this week.
Amongst the names in attendance was KISS frontman Paul Stanley who said on the red carpet: “Led Zeppelin for me was a religious experience. The first time I saw them was 1969 and it was an epiphany for me because I saw how great something can be.”
Eagles of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes spoke about what he hoped young music fans would learn about Led Zeppelin from the film: “That it’s actually important to have integrity. That’s one of the things you learn… No matter what, they maintained an integrity that is unparalleled. It’s possible to be honest, and be a shark at the same time.
When asked how Led Zeppelin’s work had influenced his band’s music, The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, who attended with his wife Camille Johnson, shared: “It is part of the language. You can’t get too far without L, M, N, O, P. They have a big part of our musical language, I mean it’s as simple as that.”
Actor J.K. Simmons attended the premiere and described Led Zeppelin as “maybe the greatest rock and roll band of all time” and remarked on “the combination of lock blues and really sophisticated musicianship, and Plant” as the DNA that made the group truly incredible.
Actor and musician Michael de Barres enthused, “Jimmy Page was one of the greatest songwriters of all time. And Robert is a tremendous lyricist, but the feeling of it, it’s not luck.”
Anthrax frontman Scott Ian shared his favourite Led Zeppelin song: “‘In My Time Of Dying’, that might be Bonham’s sickest drum track.”
Tickets for the UK cinema release of Becoming Led Zeppelin are now on sale. After an exclusive IMAX release on February 5 & 6, the Led Zeppelin documentary will open in UK cinemas nationwide from February 7.

Synopsis

The film is told in Led Zeppelin’s own words and is the first officially sanctioned film on the group.
