beabadoobee has shared her new single THE WAY THINGS GO via Dirty Hit. With acceptance at its heart, the song is an airy, twinkling track that learns to come to terms with the cards that life sometimes deals you: “I don’t mind that that’s the way things go” she sings.

The single is accompanied by an official video, directed by Jacob Erland, and stars beabadoobee and guitarist Jacob Bugden alongside a number of ballet dancers in an ornately decorated room. Having previously teased the track in an early form online, a huge wave of fan support has seen The Way Things Go take on a life of its own online and across TikTok.

The release of the single comes during an exciting 2023 for beabadoobee, who supported global superstar Taylor Swift on the US leg of her huge The Eras stadium tour. She also released the massively popular single Glue Song, a sweet love song which has since been streamed over 125 million times and saw beabadoobee make her Top 40 debut in the UK Official Singles Chart.

Later this month beabadoobee embarks on a run of shows across the USA, including two headline dates at New York’s Terminal 5 and a night at LA’s Greek Theatre, with stops at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands festivals.

Born in the Philippines and raised in London, Beatrice Laus began recording music as beabadoobee in 2017. At just 22 years old, beabadoobee already has two acclaimed albums and five sonically diverse EPs under her belt, while also receiving BRIT Award and BBC Sound Of nominations and won the NME 2020 Radar award. She has accumulated 4.6 billion streams worldwide and has a 3.5 million+ social reach with a huge, dedicated Gen Z fanbase.

beabadoobee’s highly anticipated debut album Fake It Flowers was released in 2020 to widespread critical acclaim (“a thrilling debut album from Gen Z’s newest guitar hero” NME 5*; “the charismatic star of the indie revival” The Times 4*; “at once raw and confessional, yet anthemic in scale” Dazed) and debuted at #8 in the UK album chart.

2022’s follow up Beatopia is a fantastical yet deeply personal world that was formed in the imagination of a seven-year-old beabadoobee and has been carried with her ever since. Beatopia debuted in the Top 5 of the UK album chart and was accompanied by her biggest sold out UK tour to date, a huge North America tour and her first tour of Asia.

Beabadoobee has toured globally, supporting the likes of Taylor Swift, The 1975, Halsey and Clairo, as well as playing at some of the biggest festivals in the world, including Coachella, Glastonbury, Summer Sonic, Reading and Leeds and many more.

DORK ★★★★★

“Beatopia marks beabadoobee as an artist able to set her own terms. Inventive, playful and, at times, truly magical, it might be an imaginary world, but its one that everyone should pay a visit.”

DIY ★★★★½

Beatopia shows growth without risking losing the charm that has made Bea a firm favourite.”

ROLLING STONE ★★★★

“Indie-pop prodigy Bea Kristi keeps growing in front of our eyes.”

 THE TIMES ★★★★

“Laus shows a real feeling for sweet-voiced guitar pop with fuzzy overtones. Talk sounds like a 1990s indie disco classic; Pictures of Us is delightfully wistful; and the whole thing rubs along with grungy charm.”

NME ★★★★

The guitar hero trades teenage angst for self-acceptance, exploring a new sonic palette with confidence.”

STEREOGUM – ALBUM OF THE WEEK

“Beatopia sounds like a promise. It sounds like the work of someone who will stick around, who will keep pushing and exploring.”

PITCHFORK

Bea Kristis second album is simultaneously heavy and light, dense and playful, melodic and dissonant.”

LOUD & QUIET 8/10

“Beabadoobee is a voice of a generation.”
