“The sound is immediately grim: vocals grind through each bar, guitars shift between crushing, stomping rhythms and discordant textures, and everything moves with a sense of tightly-wound tension.” – Idioteq

“The formula clear from the start: sinister riffs, whip-like slowdowns, some well-placed gang vocals, and a rough, powerful production.”  Metal Italia

Bursting out of Baltimore, MD, ERODE is making hardcore that’s dark and chaotic. Today the band share their debut album DEVOUT out through DAZE. The album was recorded with Matt Redenbo at Magpie Cage, mixed by Andy Nelson at Bricktop, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Drawing influence from bands like 100 Demons, Morbid Angel, and Kickback, the album is fueled by sinister vocals, frenetic riffs, and evil sounding breakdowns. Lyrical themes are overtly negative, navigating through disillusionment, addiction, pride, and depravity across the eight tracks. Guest features from Sean of Sinister Feeling on “DEVOUT” and Ethan of Putricine on “AS RAIN POURS,” add a punky feel to ERODE’s more blackened style.

You can stream DEVOUT HERE and purchase through DAZE.
