Bad Mary releases song and video for “The Floor Is Lava” on May 31. Save it at your favorite streaming platform here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/badmary/the-floor-is-lava

Bad Mary is lead vocalist Amanda Mac, with her husband Mike Staub on bass, her dad Bill Mac on drums, and her Hofstra University professor David Henderson on guitar.

About the new song, Henderson says, “You know, I’m not sure the world has been so crazy and scary before in my lifetime. We’re in the third year of a global pandemic, Russia is on the march again, and oh yeah, the icecaps are literally melting. So, I wanted to write a song that had nothing to do with anything! You’ve got two minutes and 39 seconds to forget all your problems and existential threats and just have fun jumping on the furniture”.

“The Floor Is Lava” is the follow-up to their recent release “Light It Up,” both songs combine the authentic grit of early punk-rock with the melodies of pop-punk, they are filled with vigor and fury and are fun and fresh. “After the past two-three years being so grim and wild, I’m happy to be back to writing and making silly songs again. But the floor IS lava!…we all knew it… we’re just here to remind you”, says singer Mac.

Earlier this year they released of Rock and Roll Classics Vol. 6 where the band puts their take on songs that span from 1967 to 2007. The EP features their take on Blondie’s “One Way or Another,” Splendora’s “You’re Standing On My Neck” the theme from MTV`s Daria, Miley Cyrus’s “See You Again,” Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit,” The Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me,” and The Police’s “Next To You.”

With Bad Mary it’s all about unapologetic guitar riffs, pounding drums, powerful vocals, and melodic and insightful lyrics with a twist. The band will continue to release music throughout the year. Another EP of Rock N’ Roll Classics is also on the way leading to their new EP release Trash and Glamour this fall.

You can hear them regularly on SiriusXM’s Little Steven’s Underground Garage, and you can catch their weekly live stream on Facebook, YouTube, Patreon, and Twitch on Tuesday nights at 8 pm EST – https://www.twitch.tv/badmaryband.
