BABYMETAL drop new single ‘from me to u’ featuring Poppy

BABYMETAL announced their new album METAL FORTH earlier this week and today they are back with a new single ‘from me to u (feat. Poppy)‘. A ripping post-hardcore / metal track, Poppy notes of the collaboration, “I have been a fan of BABYMETAL for years and I am so happy for this song to finally be here! They have inspired me so much, enjoy ‘from me to u’!”

BABYMETAL adds, “A kawaii metal song was born from a collaboration between BABYMETAL and Poppy! Check out Poppy’s shouts and BABYMETAL‘s dance in the Neo Tokyo setting! Kawaii is sprinkled throughout the intense sound! Kimi ni todoke!”

The song arrives with a video that erupts into a high-concept spectacle, pairing their signature choreography with a futuristic world teetering on the edge of destruction. The video builds toward a surreal climax as Poppy, who joins the trio in this chaotic vision, undergoes a dramatic transformation—emerging as a dragon amid the wreckage. Watch the video here.

Meaning “beyond metal”, METAL FORTH features further collaborations with Spiritbox, Tom Morello, Bloodywood, Polyphia and Slaughter To Prevail—artists that BABYMETAL has connected with over the years while touring the globe. BABYMETAL celebrated its 15th anniversary this year and, on their annual ‘FOX DAY’ (1st April)—a hugely important date in BABYMETAL lore—the band is released the ‘LEGEND MAP’. Described as “a sign from the god of metal, the FOX GOD,” the map unveiled their plans for 2025, including the new album and an extensive world tour.

On 10th May, the band will embark on their first-ever headline arena tour in the UK and Europe, playing 12 shows across eight countries, with support from Poppy & Bambie Thug. The 30th May tour finale will take place at The O2 Arena in London. BABYMETAL is the first Japanese group to headline a show at this iconic venue. The band will kick off its biggest North American tour yet in Houston on 13th June—the day of their album drop—with support from Black Veil Brides, Jinjer and Bloodywood on select dates. The band has also added arena shows in Japan and an Asia tour. In addition to their previous headline outings, BABYMETAL has opened for such artists as Lady Gaga, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Avenged Sevenfold.

METAL FORTH follows 2019’s METAL GALAXY and THE OTHER ONE, their 2023 concept album. Paper said, “On THE OTHER ONE, the band cracks open the Metalverse, surfing through parallel universes and a dizzying maze that tests their perceptions of truths, lies and what rests beyond the darkness.” In this cover story, Revolver noted, “[BABYMETAL] have spent the last decade delighting and decimating audiences across the globe with their loud, proud and outrageously catchy take on modern heavy music.”
