Renowned music photographer Scarlet Page announces the forthcoming release of ‘EXPOSED: 3 YEARS WITH PLACEBO’ – an intimate new photography book documenting Placebo at a defining time in their early career.
Printed entirely in black and white, ’EXPOSED: 3 YEARS WITH PLACEBO’ features over 220 previously unseen images shot by Scarlet as the band recorded and toured their first three albums: ‘Placebo’, ‘Without You I’m Nothing’, and ‘Black Market Music’. The result is a raw, immersive document of a band on the rise –  images captured backstage, on the road, in rehearsal, and in rare moments of calm.
Scarlet first saw Placebo live at University of London Union in 1996, just ahead of their debut album release. “They were like nothing I had ever seen – sexy, sweaty, raw,” she recalls.
That first encounter sparked a long-standing creative relationship, including high-profile magazine shoots. In 1997 Scarlet shot her now-iconic angel wings portrait of Brian Molko – an image later acquired by the National Portrait Gallery for its permanent collection.
“It’s about letting the viewer into my world with the band at that time – honest, unguarded, and very real,” says Scarlet. “These are fly-on-the-wall moments. No captions. No commentary. Just the images, as they were.”
