Australian alternative rock quintet Nautical Mile have dropped a hook-drenched cover of Uncle Kracker’s “Follow Me”. The Pop-Goes-Punk style cover of the 2000 classic, is out now on Manic Kat Records. Watch the music video HERE. Vocalist Brodi Owen spoke to Chorus FM, to discuss the release: “It’s an absolute classic that we don’t think has ever been covered in this style before. We love a good singalong and Follow Me has to be up there as one of the most recognisable songs of the last 20 years. It was a lot of fun to give it the Nautical Mile treatment.” |
Since 2018, Western Australia’s Nautical Mile have immersed listeners in an urgent and heart-on-sleeve sound, taking 00s alternative rock influence and splaying it with the best of modern day pop-punk. Nodding to the likes of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and fellow countrymen Trophy Eyes, 2019 saw the five-piece hit form at the first time of asking, with the release of debut full-length, ‘The Only Way is Through’. 2020 would see Nautical Mile catch the attention of US indie/punk label Manic Kat Records, with big single “Purgatory” whetting the appetite for the blistering and emotive display of cascading melodic rock on the band’s latest EP ‘Embers’. Watch the music video for “Purgatory”. Having already racked up over 1 million streams on Spotify, with an EP and one album in the books, the Aussie outfit’s short term success has mirrored from record to live show, touring extensively nationwide and landing support slots with genre big hitters the likes of Hands Like Houses, Hawthorne Heights and Senses Fail. Throwing back to the year 2000, Nautical Mile have dropped a pop-punk rendition of Uncle Kracker’s legendary “Follow Me”. |
