Aussie Rockers The Lazys Unveil New Video For “Hot Under The Collar”!

Aussie rockers The Lazys have unveiled the video for their latest single “Hot Under The Collar”, which originally released on June 27th. Produced by LA heavyweight Dave Schiffman (Adele, RHCP, System of a Down) and co-written with rock powerhouse Ian D’sa (Billy Talent), “Hot Under The Collar” is a razor-sharp, riff-charged anthem about the chaos of falling hard for someone at work. A heady blend of danger, desire, and pure rock ’n’ roll grit.

Speaking about the single, the band have said:
“For “Hot Under The Collar” we wanted to keep it simple and show our fun side again, which has always been a staple in the band’s persona. At the same time, we wanted to create something fresh, but we also wanted to incorporate the song’s lyrics and create a construction site theme. Given the time restraints (we only had one day to shoot the video), including a Lazys die-hard fan (who was included in the video via our Kickstarter Fundraiser), and the logistical challenges of being on an actual construction site, the idea of shooting in front of a white cyc wall emerged.”

“Throw in some fake concrete barriers, mixed with Marshall stacks and boom, we had our set at G1 Studios in Toronto. Next was to dress the boys up in costumes with some popping colours, use wide angle lenses, a variety of low and high camera angles, and we were able to give the video a throwback feel to the late 90’s & early 00’s, the heyday of music videos. Most importantly, to pull this off we brought back the same team from the “Rattle Them Bones” video!”

The band are currently in the midst of their summer European tour, which is fan-funded via Kickstarter. This sees not just a group of fans supporting a beloved band — but a movement. Every beat, lyric, and scream was made possible by a loyal global fanbase that lives and breathes the rock ’n’ roll spirit. The Lazys aren’t just grateful — they’re on a mission. And with “Hot Under The Collar”, they’re once again staking their claim as one of the fiercest progressive rock acts on the planet.

A wise man once said, “It’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock ’n’ roll.” For The Lazys, it’s been a long-haul across oceans and continents — and they’re still crushing it.

Hailing from Australia, The Lazys first blew minds at Canadian Music Week in 2014 with three explosive shows in under 24 hours. That chaos caught the eye of legendary agent Ralph James (Nickelback, Deep Purple), who signed them immediately. Later that same weekend, Billy Talent’s Ian D’Sa stumbled across the band in a dive bar and saw what the future of rock looked like. He teamed up with Canadian producer Eric Ratz (Big Wreck, Danko Jones) to craft a string of high octane, face melting singles — “Nothing But Trouble”, “Rattle Them Bones”, and “Shake It Like You Mean It” — each smashing into the Top 10 on the Canadian Active Rock charts and earning international airplay across the UK, Europe and Canada.

Now, with nearly two decades of touring under their belts, The Lazys are battle-hardened and globally beloved. They’ve scorched stages across Canada, Europe, the UK, and Australia, shared lineups with heavyweights like Airbourne, Sum 41, Billy Talent and The Darkness, and torn up major festivals like Wacken Open Air, Bloodstock, and Summer Breeze. Wherever they go, they leave a loyal, beer-soaked fanbase in their wake.

With their brand-new single “Hot Under The Collar”, The Lazys aren’t slowing down — they’re doubling down. Unapologetically loud, relentlessly high-energy, and proudly flying the flag for Aussie rock ‘n’ roll on the world stage, The Lazys are full steam ahead and never slowing down.
