Leeds-based alt-rock force Artio have today released their new album, ‘Soul Rot’, on LAB Records. To mark the release day, a music video for new single, ‘Full On Fight For Fun’ (featuring As It Is), has premiered. Speaking of the track, vocalist Rae Brazill shares, “‘Full On Fight is an ode to my sister, and our childhood. A story of growing up, changing, becoming adults and experiencing our lives together, expressing how much I love her and how far I wish to see her go. The title is the name of a game we made up as children, and the vocal sample at the end is her. She is as much this song as we are, and it’s all for her.’” |

Soul Rot is a sprawling and self-assured sophomore undertaking that cements them as a group of singular vision and uncompromising commitment to their own voice. Confident and contemporary, their upcoming second album is mythic in scope but razor sharp in delivery, pulling from influences as remote as the Hero’s Journey and as intimate as the landscapes of their hometown. Together with a new sonic and thematic palette, Soul Rot weaves a story of the tension between momentum and rejuvenation, the reckoning that is getting what you’ve always wanted, and the strength it takes to abide by your own terms first. |
