Canada’s glam rocker and producer Art d’Ecco has new international dates on sale and featuring support slots for Hot Chip and Blossoms. Following a select couple of festival plays in Canada and the U.S. next month, Art will support Hot Chip for their London show at 02 Brixton Academy, the following solo shows land him in Germany where he’ll feature on six dates across Europe with Blossoms throughout September and October before returning back to play in Vancouver this November. All dates are on sale now and available HERE. Art’s EU/UK agent is one of the world’s leading independent booking agencies, 13 Artists.
Art was recently featured in a Globe + Mail article on the obstacles many artists are facing in the post-pandemic return to touring. The piece spans the many roadblocks and expenses artists are up against as they return to work on the road, but also highlights innovative fixes, like the tech upgrade Art implemented for his merch sales to fans, “d’Ecco’s merchandise sales ‘skyrocketed’ after changing the payment system from cash-and-carry to a more high-tech solution. With a QR code at the merch table, customers can buy stuff easily with their phones, with the cash going directly into the band’s PayPal (or Venmo, or Square).”

Art’s new album, After The Head Rush vis out now via Paper Bag Records. An unapologetic ode to the audacity and playful cynicism of growing up, After The Head Rush emerges like the shadow of a sundial cast between two time zones – one in the past, and one in the present. Infused with belated coming-of-age wisdom it sparks the dawn of a new era – inspired by a move to his hometown and the thrill of rediscovering the music of his youth.

Art d’Ecco’s last record In Standard Definition, came out last year via Paper Bag Records.

PRAISE for Art d’Ecco

After The Head Rush is also made to be big, big, big!” – Line Of Best Fit

“Clad in a leather shirt and trousers, the icon-in-the-making brings his approach to the foot-stomping, attitude-swilling rock that snarls as much as it winks, the enchanted crowd packed into every square inch of the crumbling venue speaks for the charm and potential of Art D’Ecco’s future.” – The Line Of Best Fit

“Art d’Ecco are back with a glam-infused electronica that is ‘Palm Slave’. Sounding equally inspired by The Stooges, David Bowie and Soft Cell, it’s a hell of an eclectic mix that perfectly forms a track you’re going to end up putting on repeat for at least an hour or two!” – Uber Rock

“Packed with punchy, super-catchy songs” – Brooklyn Vegan

Art d’Ecco may just be the alien star we all need – Wire

In Standard Definition, offering escapism from the lumpen brutishness so beloved by the colourless modern day indie rock scene…an album of killer tunes that may be mannered to within an inch of its life, but are crammed full of wit and bravado.” – MusicOHM

It’s a shame that a ritzy gentlemen’s club now occupies the original Soho site of Blitz, since Art d’Ecco was born to be a belle of the New Romantic ball.” – 8/10 Uncut

“Matching precocious art-rock elements to that preening Marc Bolan stomp, it’s reminiscent of New York Dolls in its androgynous swagger.” – Clash
