Ontario emo rock outfit Arm’s Length unleash their long-awaited sophomore album, There’s A Whole World Out There, via Pure Noise Records. Building on the emotional gravity and raw honesty of their debut, this new full-length is a sweeping, vulnerable journey through grief, mental health, self-doubt, and resilience — all told through massive guitar hooks and gut-punching lyricism. The album can be streamed on all digital platforms HERE. Following an impressive run of singles including “The Weight,” “You Ominously End,” and “Funny Face,” the band shares the final piece of the puzzle with today’s release, accompanied by a brand-new music video for standout track “Fatal Flaw.”
“Fatal Flaw is a song about losing touch with your younger self and truly wondering if they would be proud of the person you are today,” explains vocalist and guitarist Allen Steinberg. “The lyric “look at what you’ve done” in the chorus is meant to be both accusatory and sentimental, looking back at what you’ve accomplished. It’s a classic Arm’s Length tune with a catchy chorus and big dramatic bridge!” With early praise from Alternative Press, Ones To Watch, Brooklyn Vegan and, Exclaim!, There’s A Whole World Out There is already being recognized as one of spring’s most essential releases. Produced once again by Anton DeLost, who worked with the band on their previous releases, There’s A Whole World Out There marks a significant evolution for Arm’s Length. While Steinberg wrote the bulk of the material solo, the full band—guitarist Jeremy Whyte, bassist Ben Greenblatt, and drummer Jeff Whyte—helped bring these songs to life in the studio, with additional contributions from Bonnie Brooksbank (strings) and Alex Scalzo-Brown (piano). Steinberg’s personal struggles, which he openly addressed in his songwriting, are central to the album’s creation. He confesses that during the period leading up to the writing of this record, he was “the most mentally ill” he had ever been. Yet, it was precisely through confronting these intense experiences that the album came to life with such urgency and honesty. “The songs aren’t written for anyone else at all,” he says, emphasizing the raw, unfiltered emotion that drives the record’s sound and lyrics. ‘There’s A Whole World Out There’ Track listing The World
