NEW ALBUM BETWEEN US OUT 17TH APRIL
9X JUNO Award winners Arkells have just released the breezy summertime-feeling single Ride (feat. GROUPLOVE) via Universal Music Canada and Virgin Music Group. Ride is the 4th release from Arkells’ forthcoming album Between Us, out on 17th April. The track pairs GROUPLOVE’s signature balance of soft vocals and punching falsettos, with Arkells’ comforting indie-pop groove.
“On its face, the song is about riding a bike in the city,” admits frontman Max Kerman. “That unbridled feeling of pedaling along to the song in your head. But beneath the surface, the bike’s a metaphor. When life tries to bribe you with a litany of material things, can a simple, utilitarian object like a bicycle be all you need? We asked GROUPLOVE to join us because when Christian and Hannah sing together, we feel a chemical reaction to their voices. That pure, explosive freedom we needed in the song.”
Arkells’ new album Between Us is produced by LA based John Congleton (St. Vincent, Death Cab for Cutie, Wallows). It includes their last release Next Summer with its instantly hummable chorus, the previously released radio favourite Money (featuring Portugal. The Man) and the punchy tune What Good?, to round out the first taste of new music from this Between Us era.
Between Us is available now for pre-order on vinyl, and CD, including a signed edition on grass-green vinyl. The cover was shot by Boston-based artist and photographer Pelle Cass, who photographed the vibrant image of Arkells atop Hamilton’s Jackson Square rooftop – a nod to their roots.

Arkells’ 2026 tour in support of Between Us strives to create unique experiences in a variety of settings, largely up-close and personal. Arkells are set to road trip across the pond for a string of European and UK tour dates from tomorrow – 20th March, to introduce the new music before the album’s release. The shows will bring the band to various cities in Germany, Netherlands, before headlining sold out shows at Deaf Institute in Manchester on Thursday 19th March, and London’s Underworld the next night. They will then head to the US and Canada April-June. Their just-announced Canadian run features a string of “City Takeovers” where the band can be seen in “I can believe this is happening” 3-night stands in small clubs – many of which they have not played in over a decade.
Arkells were among the first performers announced for the 2026 JUNO Awards, being held in the group’s hometown of Hamiton, ON on 29th March at the TD Coliseum. See the full announcement HERE and the social announcement HERE. The Hamilton heroes made noise in their hometown in December 2025, popping up on stage as special guests of the Jonas Brothers, at their sold-out stop at TD Coliseum. The band surprised the audience with a performance of their beloved hit Leather Jacket to the crowd’s delight.

About ARKELLS:
Whether they’re rocking stadiums, making a beeline for the discotheque, or gathering around the campfire, the implicit message of Arkells is always the same: everyone is welcome here. Since the beginning, Arkells have never wavered in their mission to be the house band that soundtracks the greatest nights of your life and provides emotional support in your darkest hours. And that communal spirit is reflected in an ever-evolving sound that hits all the perennial pleasure points—fusing the anthemic power of alt-rock, the pulpit-shaking passion of vintage soul, the off-the-cuff intimacy of singer-songwriter music, the urbane edge of 21st-century indie, and the futurist aesthetics of modern R&B. Thanks to that eclectic ethos, Arkells have continued to evolve, while making everyone feel right at home. As one of the most heavily rotated acts on radio, and all-time record holders of the JUNO Award for “Group of the Year,” Arkells have extended their reach beyond borders by infiltrating all corners of pop culture; from global sports telecasts and top-tier video games to the stages of Coachella and Bonnaroo. But the band’s longevity is ultimately a function of their commitment to never coasting on past glories and to always live completely in the moment. Even through their impressive history together, Arkells still approach every gig as an opportunity to prove themselves to the unconverted; as they’re fond of saying, each time they take the stage, “we understand the assignment.” The first rule of rock ‘n’ roll is to play every show like it’s your last—but as Arkells prove night after night, it’s just as important to hold onto the unbridled energy and enthusiasm of your first.
