Oxford’s fast-rising nu-metal outfit Arimea have today unveiled their brand-new single ‘Liminal’. Using their staple nu-metal approach of modulated guitars and DJ samples, the refreshingly raw quartet sonically take a dark and melancholic turn with ‘Liminal’. Stream the track here or watch via YouTube below.

Exploring the lyrical context, bassist Joe Landles mentions, “I began writting lyrics written one late night while researching the occultist Alestair Crowley, eroto-comatose lucidity and the philosophies surrounding them”. Diving deeper on the inspiration behind some particularly visceral lyrical content, Joe reflects that “I wanted to bring those captivating elements of Crowley’s beliefs very much to the forefront. Let’s be honest, there’s always a perverse intrigue into the less family friendly practices of the occult, those that address sexuality and attempts to talk a higher power as we do in LIMINAL.”

For the first time ever ‘Liminal’ sees Arimea exploring both female and male vocals with the addition of bassist Joe Landles providing groove based vocal filler, further referencing the cultist ideology of sexually enthused practices.

Arimea kick start a run of shows this week when they take to the stage at Burn It Down Festival. Following this they will embark on the band’s first European run with L1nkn P4rk before hitting the road with Ten Years Too Late. See full details below:

Biography:
Arimea unleashes a refreshingly raw approach to nu-metal, weaving the elements of 90s and early 2000s sounds from Flyleaf, P.O.D, Deftones, Mudvayne, etc. that first inspired them into their already well-established take on modern alt-metal. The band has crafted a heady brew of nu-metal, alternative rock, and progressive metal, with shades of hardcore and hip-hop thrown in for good measure, drawing inspiration from the likes of Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Linkin Park, and (Hed) P.E. that promises to be your new favourite sound.

From Humble Beginnings, Arimea took to fruition in post-pandemic UK honing the nu-metal charge alongside critically acclaimed mix engineer and producer MACHINE whose previous production work covers many of the bands we grew up listening to, such as Suicide Silence, Coal Chamber, and Lamb of God.
