EMERGING BRIT METALLERS FORGE AHEAD WITH A COMPELLING NEW VIDEO!
UK riff merchants, ARCHIVES, continue their ascension with the release of a mesmerising new video, Mapmaker – https://youtu.be/T27gRxFChAA . The track is taken from the band’s hugely acclaimed debut album, Decay.
By absorbing a flurry of varied influences ranging from Architects and August Burns Red, through to Fightstar and Oceans Ate Alaska, ARCHIVES have assembled a sound that is monolithic, but also incredibly captivating. Hailing from Northern Ireland and formed in 2020, the burly quintet have worked diligently to achieve their aim of producing stout and fierce music, laced with boundless energy and memorable hooks.
The band’s debut album, Decay, arrived last year, and it procured the support of a host of tastemakers including Alex Baker at Kerrang! who played tracks from the record as well as featuring the band via Kerrang.com, and Powerplay Magazine, Devolution Magazine, and ERB Magazine all massively backing the release. So too did a slew of notable websites and a plethora of radio stations.
Ready to charge forward in 2022, ARCHIVES are now primed to drop Mapmaker, and it’s an engrossing slab of cutting edge metalcore fronted with a stunning refrain. The band remark about the inspiration behind the track: “Mapmaker is a true tale of the mystery of the disappearance of Colonel Percy Fawcett from the perspective of his own potential thoughts and emotions about love, loss & fear for his life as he went through the Amazon rainforest on his mapmaking expedition that would result in him and his son’s demise.”
With forthcoming tours planned for England and Scotland, the Brit heavyweights are poised, with roaring decibels, to make themselves heard.
