Ann Beretta Unveil New Video and Play Release Shows In Richmond and Philadelphia This Weekend! Ann Beretta is back with a video for single “Better Medicine” off their recently-released “RISE” LP (see New Noise Magazine premiere). Chris DeMakes of Less Than Jake lent his voice to the song, and the video was directed/edited by Dave O’dell in the bands hometown of Richmond VA. Watch/Post: “Better Medicine” The band will be celebrating their new album’s release with a show this weekend in Richmond VA, followed by a gig in Philadelphia…. May 13th – Richmond, VA @ Richmond Music Hall (w/ Talk Me Off, ShotClock, Orphan Riot) May 14th – Philadelphia, PA @ Silk City Philly (w/ Crossed Keys, Nathan Gray of Boy Sets Fire, and Code of the Jaguar) There is no label attached to the release of “RISE” – it is 100% self funded and DIY with the band taking full control of every aspect of making and releasing it. Lyrically “RISE” reflects on a range of social and political topics including the Trump presidency, the Covid pandemic, racism, addiction, and reflecting back on the band’s history. Sonically the album is more complex and layered than past recordings but still with the anthemic hooks and energy that fans of the band have come to love and expect. Ann Beretta’s new album was recorded in Richmond, VA at Audio Verité studios and was produced by singer/guitarist Rob Huddleston, engineered and mixed by the band’s guitarist Pedro Aida, and mastered by long time friend and former Lookout! Records labelmate Mass Giorgini (Screeching Weasel, Common Rider, Squirtgun) at Sonic Iguana Studio in Lafayette, IN. “RISE” is the first album of new material since 2003’s “Three Chord Revolution”. In other good news for longtime Ann Beretta fans, the band’s full catalog is now available on streaming services, and includes the addition of two previously unreleased live albums. Also of note, the band is confirmed for The Fest in Gainesville, FL this year! Links: Bandcamp Spotify Soundcloud Instagram Facebook Twitter Promo Photos/RISE Cover |
