ANDREW FARRISS RELEASES BRAND NEW ALBUM THE PROSPECTOR

Out Now, Listen Here

LONDON, U.K.– Rock legend Andrew Farriss has today released his new album, The Prospector, offering listeners his most personal and reflective collection of songs to date. Stream/download the album here.

The Prospector is Farriss’ second solo album, following his acclaimed self-titled debut. More introspective than its predecessor, the 12-track record explores themes of love, truth, connection and purpose through songs shaped by observation, experience and storytelling.

A record defined by maturity and perspective, The Prospector captures Farriss as an artist continuing to evolve, embracing a deeper sense of self and creative freedom. As Maximum Volume Music notes, “The Prospector sounds more settled. More assured. More like the work of a man who knows precisely where he wants to be.”

Describing the album as a deeper personal reflection, Farriss says he approached the songwriting differently than ever before.

I approached the songwriting of my album differently than I had previously approached my songwriting. I was conscious of observing life on earth as we know it.”

The album’s title reflects a central idea running throughout the record: that everyone is searching for something. For Farriss, life itself is a form of prospecting.

We’re all prospecting – searching for something in life, whether we realise it or not. The important thing is to keep searching for the light, love and happiness.”

At its heart, The Prospector is an album about hope, purpose and human connection, reminding listeners that sometimes what we’re searching for has been there all along.

Recorded in Nashville with many of the city’s finest musicians, the album also features collaborations with acclaimed songwriters including Stephen Wilson Jr., Steve Bogard and others. It reflects a lifetime dedicated to crafting songs that resonate across generations.

As Alan Cackett writes, “This is the sound of an old master letting go of the idea of making music that might chart, and instead making what comes to him naturally.” The Prospector represents an artist at ease with his craft, focused not on expectations, but on honesty, storytelling and the songs themselves.

As co-founder and contributing songwriter of INXS, one of the world’s most successful rock bands, Farriss helped create some of the most enduring songs of the past four decades, including ‘Never Tear Us Apart’, ‘Need You Tonight’, ‘New Sensation’, ‘Mystify’ and ‘Don’t Change’. Earlier this year, INXS was recognised with the Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music at the 2026 APRA Music Awards, honouring the band’s lasting contribution to Australian music.
