‘A Song For You’ is a beautifully unadorned love song with a message so universal that it could’ve been written in any generation. But this is no genteel ballad. Instead, it’s folk-pop played with a rock ‘n’ roller’s heart, with driving acoustic guitars bringing the energy as melancholic violins bring equal measures of melancholy and hope. What’s most undeniable is the power of Andrew’s voice, full of feeling as he sings, “I wrote this song for the strugglers, because god knows I’m struggling too.”
Andrew says, “This is a song I’ve been sitting on for a very long time. I remember playing it at my first ever headline show in The Cluny in Newcastle. I was 19 I think and the song was called ‘A Song For The Strugglers’ back then. It’s one I’ve always believed in. ‘A Song For You’ is a very self-explanatory song, it’s for both those in love and those who are struggling! Like I’ve said in reference to writing this whole record I tried to write something that’s relevant or relatable to everyone, and ‘A Song For You’ completely fits that vibe.”
‘A Song For You’ was written by Andrew, with production from Gareth Nuttall (Lottery Winners, Frank Turner, The K’s).
‘A Song For You’ is the latest track to preview ‘Love Is For Everyone’ following ‘Alright!’ and the title track. Andrew possesses a new-found confidence and swagger throughout a collection which captures the raw energy of his live shows without losing sight of the heartbreaking balladry that made fans fall for his debut album.
Noel Gallagher is one of the first people to have heard ‘Love Is For Everyone’ and he has hailed it as an “excellent album.” Noel has been a long-term champion of Andrew’s, having produced his early single ‘Where’s My Family Gone’ and invited him to support at several big shows. Andrew recently rediscovered this clip of Noel highlighting his talents.

Andrew will follow the release of ‘Love Is For Everyone’ with a UK headline tour, limited tickets for which are available HERE. He will also play the north-east’s biggest ever festival Come Together as part of a bill which includes star names Robbie Williams, Kaiser Chiefs, Perrie and Lottery Winners. His most recent show in the area was a sold-out 4000-capacity headline set at last summer’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival. Andrew has also toured Europe and North America with Louis Tomlinson, and played shows as guest to Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Blossoms, Lathums and The Reytons.
