“The 21-year-old musician is gunning to join the ranks of pop music’s greats” THE FACE

“Alessi’s bold-as-brass live performances are already the stuff of legend, and her debut at Reading & Leeds Festival was a road-block on both sites” CLASH

Fresh from her sold-out debut headline UK tour, the alt-pop rising star on everyone’s lips ALESSI ROSE has announced details of her new EP.  ‘For Your Validation’ is set for release on Jan 17th via AWAL and features new single ‘imsochillandcool’ which is shared today following a premiere on Radio 1’s Future Pop show. It is the second track to be revealed from the 21-year-old musician’s new project, following the release of recent single ‘oh my’, and comes with a videodirected by Phoebe Lettice Thompson.

Speaking about her new EP, ALESSI ROSE says, “my ep ‘for your validation’ is dedicated to the many feelings i have developed growing up, through seeking security and reassurance in all aspects of my life, whether it’s as an artist and role model or as a friend or a daughter or even just a normal human. the songs on this ep reflect the many different times i’ve felt insecure and sought someone else to validate that i am normal and okay and everything is going as planned, which tends to be a common occurrence with my ocd. i like the fact that through assembling the ep i’ve realised that validation isn’t necessarily a desperate word, it just stems from a desire to belong somewhere, with someone, doing something, which i think is such a shared experience.”

‘imsochillandcool’ is another example of Alessi Rose’s remarkable songwriting and relatable style which has connected so strongly with her growing international army of superfans – the self-proclaimed “delulu girls” – and seen tastemakers across the board tipping her for big things. The track was co-written by Alessi Rose with Pura Bliss and produced by Couros.

Alessi says, “imsochillandcool was written as this self-aware ode to the feeling when somebody you previously were involved with moves on, and you feel all sorts of conflicting, potentially unfair feelings towards them that we all feel but don’t want to admit.
it was started in my bedroom at 2am after i saw something i didn’t want to and i was so mad that it just kinda fell out, and i think you can feel that in the anxious energy of the song which is why i love it.”

Following a thrilling summer which saw her acclaimed debut EP ‘rumination as ritual’ released alongside a series of huge live shows, including her debut performance at Reading & Leeds festival and opening for Noah Kahan in Belfast to a crowd of 40,000, the London-based, Derby-born musician shows no signs of slowing down her rapid ascent.

It’s easy to see why – only a year into playing her first live show and with just a handful of self-released and entirely self-written songs under her belt – Alessi Rose is attracting the sort of attention that saw her debut UK tour sell out in minutes, with several venues upgraded and additional dates added, including a second night at London’s Hoxton Hall. With community at the forefront of everything she does, Alessi prioritises direct connection with her growing fanbase around the world. Her popular fan hangouts were recently extended to New York and LA, while on her UK tour, fans were treated to soundcheck and post-gig hangs as well as themed shows with every fan gifted an item to dress up in. An elaborate treasure hunt has seen fans around the globe racing to find clues leading to information on the release of Alessi’s new single and EP announcement while her upcoming birthday Zoom hangs extend across five continents.

ABOUT ALESSI ROSE

Alessi Rose’s success is testament to the sheer power of drive and determination. With no connections to the music or creative industries, Alessi began posting videos of herself performing in her bedroom. After assembling a makeshift bedroom studio and self-producing demos, she trawled the credits of her favourite songs on Spotify and cold-emailed producers, sending hundreds of emails asking if anyone wanted to work with her. Her TikTok Lives performances led to hundreds of viewers tuning into her broadcasts every night and Alessi slowly started building a team and honing the alt-pop music that would eventually become her first EP.

Arriving like a shot of adrenaline straight to pop’s heart, ALESSI ROSE released her eagerly awaited debut EP ‘rumination as ritual’ in July. Featuring six songs, including last single ‘CRUSH!’ and ‘eat me alive’, it crackled with the torturous thrill of heartbreak, self-discovery and new romance. Funny and painfully honest, anchored by her powerhouse voice and brilliant songwriting ability, her disparate musical and lyrical ideas fused together by the sheer power of her self-taught songwriting ability, it confirmed her status as the one to watch in 2024.

Alessi has garnered strong support from BBC Radio 1 who invited her to perform a Future Pop Live Session, as well as press coverage in the likes of NME, The Face, Clash, Notion, Popjustice, Dork, DIY and more. She performed at this summer’s Latitude, Y Not and Reading & Leeds Festival and will play at Neighbourhood Weekender and Live At Leeds this autumn. Word is out on Alessi Rose, the acerbic new voice in alt-pop and a self-made star with talent to burn.
