ALAN FLETCHER (NEIGHBOURS) ANNOUNCES ORIGINAL HOLIDAY SONG “IT’S GONNA BE A GOOD CHRISTMAS”
To Be Released On Friday, 17th November
LONDON, U.K. — (13th November, 2023) – With the holiday season right around the corner, Neighbours star and singer-songwriter Alan Fletcher is kicking things off with the release of his brand new original song, “It’s Gonna Be A Good Christmas”, featuring Australian country singer Melody Moko. The festive track sees Fletcher following his Americana roots, and is set for release this Friday (17th November). Pre-save/pre-add what could easily be imagined as the anthem to a ‘Ramsay Street Christmas Day’ here.
Having already released three original Christmas songs to date, Alan shared, “I love Christmas music so much I feel compelled to try and create an original Holiday song every year! ‘It’s Gonna Be a Good Christmas’ is my country music take on an Aussie Christmas. I’ve enjoyed a lot of family Christmas celebrations over the years, and I have drawn upon those experiences, and a few myths, to create this rollicking bush ballad”
This new release follows the return of iconic Aussie soap, Neighbours, in September. In celebration of the return, Fletcher released “(I’ve Got a) Crush on Susie K”, a catchy and humorous fan tribute to one of Ramsay Street’s most beloved characters, Susan Kennedy. This track is available to stream/download worldwide, and also features on Fletcher’s CD The Lighter Side of Alan Fletcher, available to purchase here.
“I sang the song every night on the Neighbours Celebration tour and fans loved it!” said Alan. “I was overwhelmed with the number of requests to record and release the song.”
Neighbours: The Celebration Tour earlier this year saw Fletcher appear in fifteen sold-out dates across the UK, which he followed up with a solo headline tour in celebration of his recent album The Point and 2022 debut EP Dispatches.
ABOUT ALAN FLETCHER:
For over 27 years, Alan Fletcher has portrayed the character, Karl Kennedy, on the iconic Australian television drama, Neighbours. He has also appeared in Cop Shop and in the US series, The Love Boat. His first forays into music were with the rock band, Waiting Room, in 2004 – releasing two albums and a single. The band has toured the UK ten times in eight years performing to sell-out crowds and maintaining a weekly residency in Melbourne for 12 years.
In 2020, Alan joined forces with Lachlan Bryan and Damien Cafarella at their Melbourne studio, End of the Road, to realise his passion for Americana and Folk music. The resulting debut EP, Dispatches, released in 2022, was previewed at a special live show during the Tamworth Country Music Festival in Australia in April.
“When I began this journey with Lachlan and Damian I expected to, with luck, write and record a few songs that might get a release,” shares Alan. “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would have produced such a substantial body of work over the last 18 months.”
