“Insane music for insane people! Abscess is back in convenient reissue form to make your day and ruin it at the same time. These releases are jam packed with bonus material just like an infected tick about to burst in your skin. Who doesn’t want that?!” – CHRIS REIFERT
In 2002, Abscess signed to Peaceville Records and recorded a trilogy of albums, in the shape of Through The Cracks Of Death, Horrorhammer and concluding with 2010’s farewell slab of decadent darkness, Dawn of Inhumanity. These new CD reissues of the long out of print albums notably contain an expansive selection of bonus material from the band’s more obscure catalogue and archive, with rarities from an assortment of 7”, demo, and split releases. Each album also contains remastered audio courtesy of Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios.

DAWN OF INHUMANITY 15th ANNIVERSARY RED VINYL LP
This edition of ‘Dawn of Inhumanity’ marks 15 years since release and arrives on the vinyl format for the very first time. Includes printed inner sleeve with lyrics.
Abscess hailed from Oakland California, started life in 1994, and is best described as “Sickodelic Gore Metal”. Chris Reifert & Danny Coralles are both longstanding members of Death Metal legends Autopsy which was signed to Peaceville for 4 albums in the early 90’s, before making a triumphant return from the grave in 2009. Chris also started his career in the 80’s with the highly influential extreme metal band, Death. In the wake of the original cessation of Autopsy in the mid-90s, Abscess (with the core line-up completed by Clint Bower) took the mantle of extremity and notoriety to new depths with a string of albums and 7” releases spanning 15 years.
Alongside the special run of Abscess reissues, Peaceville will also be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Autopsy’s fourth album of death metal debauchery Shitfun with a limited brown marble vinyl LP set for release on 28th November –
SHITFUN 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, LIMITED BROWN MARBLE VINYL
PRE-ORDER ALL ABSCESS AND AUTOPSY ANNIVERSARY TITLES
Released in the autumn of 1995, Autopsy’s then fourth and final album before splitting, ‘Shitfun’, was a glorious scatological gross out and exercise in the limits of extremity, and a fitting end to one of the finest bands of a Doomed generation before their return from the grave in 2009 which has continued to go from strength to strength to the current day.
