Abilene To Release Discography Vinyl Box Set and Digital via LandLand Colportage and 795 Media LandLand Colportage and 795 Media have announced the October 3rd vinyl and digital release of the Abilene discography, “Endee Burial”. To celebrate the labels released the tracks “Decadence & Denial” and “Twisting the Trinity” from the discography (see Punknews premiere)…. Listen/Post: “Decadence & Denial” Listen/Post: “Twisting the Trinity” Abilene was a Chicago-based indie rock/post rock band formed in 1998, originally consisting of Alex Dunham on guitar & vocals, Scott Adamson behind drums, and bassist Craig Ackerman. They recorded and released a six-song self-titled slow-burner on the now-defunct Slowdime label in 2000. Before writing and recording “Two Guns, Twin Arrows,” Dunham’s former Hoover bandmate Fred Erskine (June of ’44, Hoover) joined to play trumpet, and the band evolved musically into something more dense, equally brooding, yet still ambient and subtle in nature. That album was released on the also-defunct 54º40′ or Fight! in 2002. Abilene’s members have a prestigious musical past which has included such bands as June of ’44, Hoover, Lustre King, Chisel.Drill.Hammer, Just a Fire, Radio Flyer and Regulator Watts. “Endee Burial” collects the entirety of Abilene’s recorded output on vinyl for the FIRST TIME: The aforementioned two full-lengths, as well as a previously unreleased third LP of finished demos, unreleased songs, and songs that appeared on long-out-of-print compilations.
