(Denver, CO – October 10, 2025) — Husband-and-wife-led power trio Volores returns with its new single “The Huntress,” now streaming everywhere. The song offers a powerful first glimpse of the Denver band’s forthcoming sophomore album, Shores of Scorpio, arriving February 20, 2026. The Spill Magazine premiered the official music video earlier today.
“The Huntress” meditates on loyalty, freedom, and memory. Blending indie guitars and sweeping vocals with driving rhythms, the song captures both urgency and melancholy — a tribute that feels intimate yet universal, reminding us that the greatest loves are often the heaviest losses.
Vocalist and guitarist Shelby Maxwell shares, “It’s a love song written from my cat’s perspective. She used to jump the fence in our backyard, and every time she did, I’d be sick with worry that she wouldn’t come back—but she always did. After she passed away unexpectedly from cancer, the song took on a whole new meaning. What started as a story about loyalty became one about loss—and the kind of love that lingers even after goodbye.”
Shores of Scorpio is a deeply personal record inspired by Maxwell’s discovery that her biological father was not the man who raised her. The album traces a year of grief, revelation and resilience, pairing soaring vocals with steady alternative rock foundations. Recorded at the iconic Sonic Ranch in Texas, the album serves as a fearless meditation on identity, betrayal and the tides that shape us.
