Acclaimed artist-writer Kashus Culpepper has announced an intimate headline show at Camden’s iconic Jazz Cafe on Tuesday 9th March.
Tickets will be available via the artist presale on Wednesday 28th October @ 10am GMT, venue & C2C Past-Bookers Pre-Sale Thursday 29th October @ 10am GMT here, and the general On-Sale Friday 30th October @ 10am GMT here.
The show follows the recent announcement that Culpepper will be returning to the UK next year to play at C2C Festival, which takes place March 12th – 14th across London, Manchester and Glasgow.
Culpepper recently released a three-song Apple Music Sessions, which includes a cover of the Isley Brothers 1959 staple ‘Shout’ with pals and former tour mates Charles Wesley Godwin and Wyatt Flores. Doubling down on what NPR characterised as his work being “genre-wise so sonically expansive,” the Alabama-native’s Apple Music Sessions also includes reimagined versions of two of his earliest songs, the fan-favourites ‘Jenni’ and ‘Out Of My Mind’.
The session follows the release of his lauded debut album Act I released in January, and its infectious seasonal addendum, Act I: Summer Nights. In just over two years since his first-ever release, Culpepper has compiled a long list of accolades. Touted by Elton John as “if Bill Withers made country music” (here), and described by John Mayer as “as good as it gets,” Culpepper has made appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS Saturday Sessions, The Kelly Clarkson Show, NPR World Cafe and The Tamron Hall Show.
Culpepper’s neo-country-soul sound has taken him on the road with the likes of Leon Bridges, Shaboozey, Jelly Roll, Sierra Ferrell, Darius Rucker, and more. This year he embarked on a headlining run across the US and will see the year out with dates supporting Stephen Wilson Jr.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM FOR KASHUS CULPEPPER
“…it’s obvious why his career has been fast-tracked. The handful of songs he’s released so far take a smart, often witty route… performed in a style he classifies as ‘southern sounds’…” – The Guardian
“Culpepper offers up his organic sound with a brand of hard-earned, raw realness that can’t be feigned.”
– Billboard
“Kashus Culpepper is turning heads in roots music – and the mainstream.” – Good Country
“…Culpepper has revived the melodic crooning of ‘80s and ‘90s country, buoyed by his blues influence…”
– GRAMMY.com
“…his inimitable way, voice full of sandpaper and gravel…” – No Depression
“His ragged-edged baritone growl could’ve transformed the Delta blues with Howlin’ Wolf in the ‘50s, or smoked a brisket with Tom Waits in the ‘70s, just as naturally as it fits with Marcus King’s slide guitar and Sierra Ferrell’s vocals featured on next year’s Act I” – Paste
“…his hauntingly beautiful country-Americana-inspired sound, with a voice that harkens back to yesteryear and a perspective road-worn from gospel singing in his youth, military service as an adult and true-grit living throughout.” – PEOPLE
“If what we’ve heard so far is any indication, expect 2026 to be a breakthrough year for this Alabama singer.” – Rolling Stone
“Culpepper’s style is measured and soulful, like the best blend of fury and sound.” – The Tennessean
