AS DECEMBER FALLS release new single, ‘Nervous’, featuring Markus Vide of SOLENCE

Having spent the last seven years building one of UK rock’s fiercest independent success stories, without the backing of a record label, As December Falls have earned back-to-back Top 20 and Top 10 albums while growing a fiercely loyal fanbase one show at a time. Today, the Nottingham trio return with new single ‘Nervous’, featuring Markus Videsäter of Solence.

Serving as a glimpse of what’s still to come, ‘Nervous’ finds the band embracing a brighter, hook-laden sound without sacrificing the energy that’s defined them from the very beginning. Built around irresistible melodies and a soaring chorus, it’s the clearest indication yet of a band ready to take the next step.

Vocalist Bethany Hunter says: “The song is about the specific feeling of butterflies hitting your stomach when you’re around someone that makes you forget how to be normal. We wrote it whilst on the road, then passed back and forth with Markus of Swedish rock band Solence, with Markus taking the second verse and returning for the final chorus. It’s our first time having an artist feature on a track and we were SO stoked with Markus’ performance!”

Storming the UK Official Albums Chart at #8, Everything’s On Fire But I’m Fine captured As December Falls at their most ambitious and self-assured yet. Written while balancing relentless touring with day jobs, the album channels the uncertainty, exhaustion, gratitude and determination that comes with chasing a dream before you’ve quite reached it.

From the smouldering title track, reflecting on the band’s unique position between DIY success and the next step, to the emotional honesty of ‘Grim Reaper’ and ‘Angry Cry’, the record embraces life’s contradictions rather than shying away from them. Elsewhere, ‘Ready Set Go’ takes inspiration from late-night Twitch sessions, ‘Bathroom Floor’ explores heartbreak and red flags, while ‘For The Plot’ finds the band revelling in playful chaos.

That openness has become a defining part of As December Falls. Refusing to chase trends or compromise their identity, they’ve built one of the UK’s most loyal independent fanbases by writing songs that are raw, relatable and refreshingly honest.
