Season of Mist is proud to welcome VOID SECTOR ZERO!
VOID SECTOR ZERO, the new project from guitarist Christian Muenzner (Necrophagist, ex-Obscura, ex-Alkaloid), vocalist and bassist Alex Weber (Revocation, Malignancy, Exist), and drummer Gabe Seeber (Decrepit Birth, Abigail Williams), have signed to Season of Mist. Their debut album is set for release in 2026.
The band fuses late-’80s technical thrash metal with early-’90s technical death metal, layering in neoclassical metal, US power metal and jazz fusion influences for a sound the band describes as a modern spin on progressive thrash.
Muenzner, Weber and Seeber first crossed paths while all three were playing together in Obscura during the world tour for A Valediction. The chemistry carried over once Muenzner began writing in the tech-thrash style he’d long wanted to explore, citing Coroner, Voivod, Toxik, Martyr, Hexenhaus and Aspid as key touchstones.

Muenzner states:
“We are excited to announce that Void Sector Zero has signed with Season of Mist. I’ve always wanted to play tech-thrash. I was listening to bands like Coroner, Voivod, Toxik, Martyr, Hexenhaus and Aspid before I got into technical death metal. When I decided to start my own band in this style, I thought of Alex and Gabe. Not only are they both great players, but I knew from our time in Obscura that we had great chemistry both on and off stage. We can’t wait to share our debut album with you very soon!”
